Methods: This was a sub-analysis of the Collaboration-1 study (multicenter, retrospective, observational study). A total of 88 lesions from 80 patients with chronic coronary syndrome who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention were analyzed.

The low attendance rate for cancer screening tests in Poland is a major healthcare concern that requires specific analysis and the development of implementation recommendations for prevention, and both actions are likely to benefit culturally similar countries. Four female cancers account for approximately 20% of all cancer cases-breast cancer, cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, and ovarian cancer-suggesting that gynecologists have a significant preventative role. Of the four, breast cancer and cervical cancer are among the 10 most common malignant neoplasms globally, regardless of gender, occur only in women and are known to have effective screening measures.

Proper targeted cancer prophylaxis reduces the incidence of cancer in all forms; this includes cancers with significant progression potential and poor prognosis. Based on the assumption that one of the risk factors of cervical cancer is the avoidance of screening tests, we analyzed the current scenario of cervical cancer (CC) screening and recommendations in Poland (country with a well-off socioeconomic status). Based on the comprehensive literature review concerning documents of guidelines and recommendations of various bodies, including national ones, data on the implementation of CC screening in Poland, and different models for medium-to-high-income countries, we proposed how the CC screening strategy could be improved.

Screening tool for identification of hip fractures in the prehospital setting.

Objectives: This study aims to develop a screening tool that will help first responders identify patients with proximal femur fractures, commonly referred to as hip fractures, on site and direct these patients to hospitals with orthopaedic surgery services.

Study Design: Prospective survey.

Methods: Literature and expert opinion defined parameters for the Collingwood Hip Fracture Rule (CHFR) which predict a patient's likelihood of hip fracture.

Women's experiences of skin-to-skin cesarean birth compared to standard cesarean birth: a qualitative study.

Background: Skin-to-skin contact between mother and infant immediately after birth is recommended regardless of delivery method; however, it is less common after cesarean delivery. We aimed to describe and compare women's experiences of cesarean birth with and without skin-to-skin contact at an urban tertiary care hospital.

Methods: In this hermeneutic phenomenologic study, we used semistructured telephone interviews from 2015 to 2018 to interview a convenience sample of women who delivered at term by scheduled skin-to-skin cesarean birth at an urban tertiary care hospital in Toronto, Ontario.

Background: Ultrasonography's usefulness in endometrial cancer (EC) diagnosis consists in its roles in staging and prediction of metastasis. Ultrasound-measured tumor-free distance from the tumor to the uterine serosa (uTFD) is a promising marker for these diagnostic and prognostic variables. The aim of the study was to determine the usefulness of this biomarker in locoregional staging, and thus in the prediction of lymph node metastasis (LNM).

Reactive Arthritis After Intravesical Bacillus Calmette-Guérin Therapy.

Reactive arthritis (ReA) is a sterile arthritis that occurs in genetically predisposed individuals secondary to an extra-articular infection, usually of the gastrointestinal or genitourinary tract. Sterile arthritis associated with instillation of intravesical bacillus Calmette-Guérin (iBCG) therapy used for bladder cancer can also be included under ReA based on the pathogenic mechanism. Similar to spondyloarthritis, HLA-B27 positivity is a known contributor to the genetic susceptibility underlying iBCG-associated ReA.

Methods: Between 1980 and 2015, 8 patients with congenital uterovaginal abnormalities were diagnosed.

Utilization of Telemedicine in Addressing Musculoskeletal Care Gap in Long-Term Care Patients.

Unlabelled: A notable proportion of patient transfers in Ontario are from long-term care facilities for consultation of musculoskeletal (MSK) issues. These transfers are costly for patients and the healthcare system. This study evaluated the utility of a telemedicine MSK (TeleMSK) service for long-term care patients requiring an orthopaedic consultation.

A study of voice and non-voice processing in Prader-Willi syndrome.

Background: Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) is a rare and complex neurodevelopmental disorder of genetic origin. It manifests itself in endocrine and cognitive problems, including highly pronounced hyperphagia and severe obesity. In many cases, impaired acquisition of social and communication skills leads to autism spectrum features, and individuals with this syndrome are occasionally diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) using specific scales.

Face processing and exploration of social signals in Prader-Willi syndrome: a genetic signature.

Background: Faces are critical social cues that must be perfectly processed in order to engage appropriately in everyday social interactions. In Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS), a rare genetic disorder characterized by cognitive and behavioural difficulties including autism spectrum disorder, the literature referring to face processing is sparse. Given reports of poor social interactions in individuals with PWS, we sought to assess their face and emotion recognition skills during eyetracking recordings.

Methods: A panel of leaders from both rural and urban/academic practice environments met over 8 months. Draft recommendations were developed from panel expertise as well as survey data and presented at the 2018 Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians (CAEP) Academic Symposium.

Inhaled medications are the cornerstone of treatment in early childhood wheezing and paediatric asthma. A match between patient and device and a correct inhalation technique are crucial for good asthma control. The aim of this paper is to propose an inhaler strategy that will facilitate an inhaler choice most likely to benefit different groups of children.

Impact of early feeding on childhood eczema: development after nutritional intervention compared with the natural course - the GINIplus study up to the age of 6 years.

Background: Nutritional intervention with hydrolysed infant formulas has been shown efficacious in preventing eczema in children predisposed to allergy. However, this preventive effect has never been related to the natural course of eczema in children with or without a family history of allergy. The aim of this study therefore was to compare the course of eczema in predisposed children after nutritional intervention to the natural course of eczema.

Gastrointestinal symptoms associated with enteric-coated sulfasalazine (Azulfidine EN tablets).

Abstract To investigate both the incidence and the dosage used to treat gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms associated with enteric-coated sulfasalazine (Azulfidine EN, AZL) in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), we studied the clinical history of 153 RA patients, and any available data on GI symptoms that might have been associated with AZL. GI symptoms appeared in 64 (42.5%) of the 153 cases.

Anthracycline-induced cardiotoxicity: clinical course, risk factors, pathogenesis, detection and prevention--review of the literature.

Anthracycline antibiotics are widely used antineoplastic agents and their efficacy for the treatment of various haemopoietic or solid tumours has been well established in clinical practice. Cardiotoxicity is one of the most serious side effects of anthracyclines. The risk of cumulative, life-threatening toxic cardiomyopathy limits their therapeutic potential.
