In this study, a mixed model was applied to the marine medaka to investigate the intergenerational effects of parental exposure to Triphenyltin (TPT) and the subsequent perturbations in parental gut microbiota on the gut microbiota of offspring. In addition, "microgenderome" has been focused on elucidating the different responses of males and females to environmental stress. The results indicated that TPT exhibited androgenic effects and long-term toxicological consequences, influencing the internal steroid hormone levels of the offspring and leading to their abnormal growth and development.

Triphenyltin (TPT), a widely used environmental contaminant in antifouling paints, is known for its neurotoxic effects. To investigate the multigenerational impacts of long-term exposure (6 weeks) to environmental concentrations of TPT (100 ng/L) on either parent, we performed mixed mating between control and exposed groups (males or females). Although there was no direct contact with TPT in the subsequent generations, both the first and second generations displayed behavioral abnormalities, including reduced activity and impaired cognitive function, with pronounced gender differences and anxiety-like behaviors.

A novel imprinted composite nanoprobe for fluorescence turn-on recognition of acetamiprid was fabricated and applied to rapidly and sensitively detect trace-level acetamiprid in seawater. The fluorescent probe was prepared using modified fluorescein isothiocyanate as a response unit to improve the sensitivity of signal transmission. Discharges of CO and nutrients by anthropogenic activities have notable contributions to CO enrichment and eutrophication in coastal systems. Following our previous study that toxic dinoflagellate Alexandrium minutum will increase their growth rate and cellular toxicity under elevated levels of CO, we further examined the joint effects of CO enrichment and excess nitrogen supply through a 29-day experiment under three CO levels (400, 800 and 1200 ppm) with a high N/P ratio of 80. It was found that the two factors have synergistical effects in promoting the increase of cellular toxicity.

A novel brominated flame retardant decabromodiphenyl ethane (DBDPE) poses a potential threat to animals, but its effects on cephalopods remain unknown. In this study, Amphioctopus fangsiao, a common octopus in China, was exposed to DBDPE (0, 1, 50, 100, 300 μg/L) for 28 days. Chemical analysis revealed that the digestive gland bore a greater burden of DBDPE compared with other tissues.
