Xenobiotics recovery from plasma using solid phase extraction with C-18 sorbent - The reasons of literature discrepancies.

Solid phase extraction (SPE) is one of the most popular methods of preparing plasma samples before determining the xenobiotics they contain. The present paper shows that the recovery degree of xenobiotics from plasma samples using SPE with C18 sorbent strongly depends on their storage time and temperature. While xenobiotics can be isolated and recovered in 100 % from fresh plasma samples under optimal conditions of the SPE procedure, their SPE recovery degree from stored plasma is lower.

Adsorption of rhamnolipid (RL) and surfactin (SF) as well as their mixtures with Triton X-100 (TX100) and Triton X-165 (TX165) at the solution-air (S-A), PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene)-S, PMMA (poly (methyl methacrylate))-S, Q (quartz)-S, PMMA-A, and Q-A as well as their wetting properties regarding the surface tension of the PTFE, PMMA and quartz and its components and parameters were discussed using the literature data. The mutual influence of biosurfactants and Tritons on the S-A, PMMA(quartz)-A and PTFE(PMMA, quartz)-S interfaces tensions was considered in terms of their adsorption at these interfaces for both aqueous and water-ethanol solutions of the biosurfactant mixtures with Tritons. For this purpose there were used different methods on the basis of which the S-A, PMMA(quartz)-A and PTFE(PMMA, quartz)-S interface tensions can be predicted and/or described in the function of concentration and composition of the mixtures.

Improved methods for the synthesis of nicotine are of great importance due to the wide range of applications of synthetic nicotine, which is free from contamination with nitrosamines. Herein, we present a four-step chemical synthesis of ()-nicotine, involving the reduction in myosmine, enantiomeric separation of nornicotine, and subsequent methylation of the appropriate enantiomer of nornicotine obtained. The reduction in myosmine was investigated using both electrochemical and chemical approaches, achieving up to 90% yields of pure nornicotine.

The voltammetric acyclovir (ACV) trace-level determination procedure has been introduced. The preparation of biocarbons from cellulose fibres utilised in the production of baby nappy mats (sourced from Feniks Recycling company, Poland) for the removal of methylene blue and rhodamine B dyes has been documented. A Brunauer, Emmett and Teller analysis revealed a surface area within the range of 384 to 450 m/g. Fe-modified Cu catalysts with CeO support, prepared by the impregnation method, were subjected to physicochemical analysis and catalytic tests in the steam reforming of methanol (SRM). Physicochemical studies of the catalysts were carried out using the XRF, TEM, STEM-EDS, XRD, TPR and nitrogen adsorption/desorption methods. XRD, TEM studies and catalytic tests of the catalysts were carried out at two reduction temperatures, 260 °C and 400 °C, to determine the relationship between the form and oxidation state of the active phase of the catalysts and the catalytic properties of these systems in the SRM.

With the help of electrochemical methods, including CV and EIS, the influence of methimazole, carbimazole, and the concentration of the supporting electrolyte on the kinetics and mechanism of zinc electroreduction on a mercury electrode was compared and analyzed. Moreover, molecular dynamics simulations of zinc/carbimazole and zinc/methimazole solutions were carried out to determine the effect of drugs on the hydration sphere of Zn ions. It was shown that the electroreduction of Zn in the presence of methimazole and carbimazole occurs in two steps and the first one determines the kinetics of the entire process.

Abnormal experiences of time (ATEs) are an established object of research in phenomenological psychopathology. The purpose of this study was the first validation of the Transdiagnostic Assessment of Temporal Experience (TATE), a structured phenomenological interview concerning ATEs in individuals with diverse mental health conditions, and its adaptation for the Polish language. The research employed a mixed-method approach and consisted of several phases including (1) consensual translation; (2) construct and content validation by an expert panel; (3) direct feedback from patients with lived experiences of alcohol addiction, borderline personality, autism, and clinical depression; (4) an auditorium questionnaire with 98 respondents without mental health issues, who were both interviewed and gave qualitative feedback; and (5) a final expert panel and approval.

Dimethyl 2-[2-(1-phenyl-4,5-dihydro-1H-imidazol-2-yl)hydrazinylidene]butanedioate (DIHB) and 8-(3-chlorophenyl)-2,6,7,8-tetrahydroimidazo[2,1-c][1,2,4]triazine-3,4-dione (HDIT) are promising candidates for anticancer agents, the first analytical procedures of which are presented in this paper.
