Sleep disturbance (SD) in the second half of the night due to inflammatory pain was included in the 2009 ASAS classification criteria of Spondyloarthritis (SpA), even though its definition is uncertain. We aimed to investigate SD in early-SpA (e-SpA) patients at T1 (2010-2013), comparing them to long-term SpA (l-SpA) patients at T2 (2023-2024) after at least 10 years of follow-up. At T1, in e-SpA and l-SpA cases, SD, classified as "difficulty in initiating sleep" (DIS), "difficulty in maintaining sleep" (DMS) and "early awakening" (EA), was compared to clinical parameters (ASDAS-CRP, BASDAI, m-HAQ-S, BASMI, MASES, 68/66 joint count, tenderness of sacroiliac joints, fatigue [FACIT] and HADS for anxiety [A] and depression [D]).

Gout is the most common form of inflammatory arthritis, and it is due to the deposition of monosodium urate crystals in the articular and extra-articular tissues. Body mass index is strongly correlated with elevated serum uric acid levels and gout is often associated with obesity and metabolic syndrome. Recommended nonpharmacological treatments for hyperuricemia and gout include dietary modifications and weight loss.

Background: Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) has emerged as an effective and safe treatment for patients with symptomatic aortic stenosis. The indication to TAVI should be agreed upon by a Heart Team, and the procedure should be performed in centers with on-site cardiac surgery. However, TAVI complications requiring emergent cardiac surgery (ECS) have become very rare.

Background: Hip osteoarthritis (HOA) is a disease with globally rising incidence that leads to disability and morbidity, overall, in older populations, and might be primary or secondary to numerous risk factors. The most common idiopathic HOA is generally a diagnosis of exclusion, with pathogenetic mechanisms largely still misunderstood. We aimed to investigate the correlation between femoral-acetabular and spinopelvic anatomical and computed tomography (CT) characteristics, and the presence of primary OA.

: Kawasaki disease (KD) is a systemic vasculitis of medium arteries, particularly involving coronary arteries. Coronary artery lesions (CALs) is the most serious complication in the acute stage, potentially leading to ischemic cardiomyopathy, myocardial infarction and sudden death. Environmental factors and genetic background contribute to individual susceptibility to develop CALs.

Background: The effectiveness of complete revascularization is well established in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), but it is less investigated in those with non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI).
Objectives: This study aimed to assess whether complete revascularization, compared with culprit-only revascularization, was associated with consistent outcomes in older patients with STEMI and NSTEMI.
Methods: In the FIRE (Functional Assessment in Elderly MI Patients with Multivessel Disease) trial, 1,445 older patients with myocardial infarction (MI) were randomized to culprit-only or physiology-guided complete revascularization, stratified by STEMI (n = 256 culprit-only vs n = 253 complete) and NSTEMI (n = 469 culprit-only vs n = 467 complete).

Background: Cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) extracellular volume (ECV) allows non-invasive detection of myocardial interstitial fibrosis, which may be related to diastolic dysfunction and left atrial (LA) remodeling in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). While the prognostic role of LGE is well-established, interstitial fibrosis and LA dysfunction are emerging novel markers in HCM. This study aimed to explore the interaction between interstitial fibrosis by ECV, LA morpho-functional parameters and adverse clinical outcomes in selected low-risk patients with HCM.
