One of the greatest serious side effects of diabetes is diabetic nephropathy (DN), which is also the key factor in the sometimes-deadly diabetic end-stage renal disease. Progressive renal interstitial fibrosis is closely associated with oxidative stress, and the extracellular matrix is typically a feature of DN. Some RNAs formed by genome transcription that are not translated into proteins are recognized as noncoding RNAs.

A novel and effective adsorbent known as Seleno-chitosan-phytic acid nanocomplex (Se-CS-PA) has been developed specifically for efficiently removing patulin (PAT) from a simulated juice solution. The synthesis of Se-CS-PA nanocomplex was confirmed through Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and energy dispersive X-Ray (EDX) analyses. Response surface methodology (RSM) was employed using central composite design (CCD) to examine the impact of four independent variables (PA concentration, amount of nano-complex, duration of interaction between PAT and nano-complex, and initial concentration of PAT) on the removal of PAT.

Mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNPs) have been reported as an effective system to co-deliver a variety of different agents to enhance efficiency and improve biocompatibility. This study was aimed at the preparation, physicochemical characterization, antimicrobial effects, biocompatibility, and cytotoxicity of vancomycin and meropenem co-loaded in the mesoporous silica nanoparticles (Van/Mrp-MSNPs). The prepared nanoparticles were explored for their physicochemical features, antibacterial and antibiofilm effects, biocompatibility, and cytotoxicity.

Background: The discovery and development of antimicrobial drugs were one of the most significant advances in medicine, but the evolution of microbial resistance limited the efficiency of these drugs.
Aim: This paper reviews the collateral sensitivity in bacteria and its potential and limitation as a new target for treating infections.
Results And Discussion: Knowledge mechanisms of resistance to antimicrobial agents are useful to trace a practical approach to treat and control of resistant pathogens.

In this qualitative study, we aimed to explore the challenges of providing services and supports for children with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and their families from the perceptions of professionals and parents of children with ASD. We classified the results of the study into three key categories including shortcomings in the management of children with ASD; shortcomings of supportive programs and facilities for children with ASD and their families; and organizational challenges in providing services for these children. We analyzed data using the content analysis method.

Background & Aims: The impact of probiotics on psoriasis, a systemic inflammatory disease, remains obscure, thus we decided to evaluate quality of life (QOL), oxidative stress, inflammatory markers and clinical outcome in psoriasis patients.
Methods: Fifty patients with plaque psoriasis randomized into two groups, group 1 received probiotic drink with Lactobacillus strains for 8 weeks while group 2 haven't received any probiotic supplements at this period. The Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI) and Beck's questionnaire (BDI) were used to investigate the quality of life and depression, respectively.

Nowadays bioactive compounds have gained great attention in food and drug industries owing to their health aspects as well as antimicrobial and antioxidant attributes. Nevertheless, their bioavailability, bioactivity, and stability can be affected in different conditions and during storage. In addition, some bioactive compounds have undesirable flavor that restrict their application especially at high dosage in food products.

RNA helicase p68 or DEAD (Asp-Glu-Ala-Asp) box polypeptide 5 (DDX5) is a unique member of the highly conserved protein family, which is involved in a broad spectrum of biological processes, including transcription, translation, precursor messenger RNA processing or alternative splicing, and microRNA (miRNA) processing. It has been shown that p68 is necessary for cell growth and participates in the early development and maturation of some organs. Interestingly, p68 is a transcriptional coactivator of numerous oncogenic transcription factors, including nuclear factor-κβ (NF-κβ), estrogen receptor α (ERα), β-catenin, androgen receptor, Notch transcriptional activation complex, p53 and signal transducer, and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3).

Lung cancer is a leading cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide, with less than a 5-year survival rate for both men and women. Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and Kirsten rat sarcoma oncogene (KRAS) signaling pathways play a critical role in the proliferation and progression of various cancers, including lung cancer. Genetic studies have shown that amplification, over-expression, or mutation of EGFR is an early and major molecular event in many human tumors.
