Background: Coronary artery disease (CAD) has been linked to single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) in superoxide dismutase 2 (SOD 2) gene. Additionally, several modifiable risk factors are also known to influence the CAD risk.
Aim: To investigate the association between selected modifiable risk factors and oxidative stress markers with the SOD2 rs4880 SNP in CAD patients.

NF-κB has become a predominant regulator responsible for multiple physiological and pathological processes. NF-κB signaling pathway has canonical and non-canonical components which strategize the cancer-related metabolic processes. Non-canonical NF-κB pathways are known to contribute towards the chemoresistance of cancer cells.

The mushrooming utilization of electronic devices in the current era produces electromagnetic interference (EMI) capable of disabling commercial and military electronic appliances on a level like never before. Due to this, the development of advanced materials for effectively shielding electromagnetic radiation has now become a pressing priority for the scientific world. This paper reviews the current research status of polymer nanocomposite-based EMI shielding materials, with a special focus on those with hybrid fillers and MXenes.

Pyrazolone derivatives play a significant role in the treatment of cancer. The synergic effect which emerges from the combination of pyrazolone moiety with hydrazone functionality was investigated. The objective of this study was to explore the antiproliferative potential of copper(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II) and zinc(II) metal chelates synthesized from pyrazolone based hydrazone derivative.

The presence of excess L-amino acid in the Murchison meteorite, circular polarization effect in the genesis of stars and existence of chirality in interstellar molecules contribute to the origin of life on earth. Chiral-sensitive techniques have been employed to untangle the secret of the symmetries of the universe, designing of effective secure drugs and investigation of chiral biomolecules. The relationship between light and chiral molecules was employed to probe and explore such molecules using spectroscopy techniques.

Cancer is still considered a "hopeless case", besides all of the advancements in oncology research. On the other hand, the natural products, as effective lead molecules, have gained significant interest for research due to the absence of toxic and harmful side effects usually associated with conventional treatment methods. Medicinal properties of herbal plants are strongly evidenced in traditional medicine from ancient times.

Fabricating novel materials for biomedical applications mostly require the use of biodegradable materials. In this work biodegradable materials like polylactic acid (PLA) and chitosan (CHS) were used for designing electrospun mats. This work reports the physical and chemical characterization of the PLA-CHS composite, prepared by the electrospinning technique using a mixed solvent system.

Compromised temporal resolving power of the auditory system can be one of the main factors contributing to poor speech perception skills in the elderly. Very few of the earlier studies have systematically examined this aspect. Hence, the current study was designed with the following objectives: 1) To establish normative database of Gaps in Noise (GIN) test in elderly population in an Indian context.

Objectives: Cell free fetal DNA (cffDNA) and its hypermethylated RASSF1A gene signify a recent advancement in non-invasive prenatal diagnosis of feto-placental anomalies like pre-eclampsia. The study uses hypermethylated RASSF1A gene to quantify cffDNA and to assess its relationship with placental and urine proteins in pre-eclampsia cases.
Design And Methods: DNA was isolated from plasma samples of clinically diagnosed cases of pre-eclampsia (n=103) and normal pregnancy (n=616) from 21weeks of gestation.

Objective: To quantify cell free fetal DNA (cffDNA) with fetal specific epigenetic marker, hypermethylated RASSF1A, in maternal plasma of normal pregnant women from 20 weeks of gestation and to assess its relationship with maternal age, height, pre-pregnancy weight and body mass index (BMI).
Methods: Hundred normal pregnant women within the gestational age of 21-40 weeks were randomly selected and grouped into five (n = 20). Group 1: 21-24, Group 2: 25-28, Group 3: 29-32, Group 4: 33-36 and Group 5: 37-40 weeks.
