Objective: The study aimed to evaluate the influence of various surface coatings (epoxy, Teflon, and rhodium) on the surface roughness (SR) and nanomechanical characteristics of nickel-titanium (NiTi) archwires. The study compared these coated archwires to uncoated ones from a single manufacturer, which served as a control.
Materials And Methods: There were 15 rectangular samples of four distinct archwires measuring 0.

Background: Dental imaging plays a crucial role in diagnosis and treatment planning, with cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) and medical computed tomography (CT) being two common modalities. This study aims to compare the radiation doses associated with CBCT and medical CT imaging in dental applications to assess their relative safety and efficacy.
Materials And Methods: We conducted a retrospective study using data from 100 patients who underwent both CBCT and medical CT scans for dental purposes.

Aim: The current study was conducted to assess the effects of various surface treatments on the implant surface.
Materials And Methods: A total of 45 dental implants measuring 16 mm in length and 5 mm in diameter were used, along with the appropriate abutments. Depending on the surface treatment used, the samples were randomly split into three groups, with 15 implants in each group: Group 1: Control, Group 2: UV light-treated, Group 3: Sandblasted and acid-etched (SLA)-treated.

Background: Surface roughness (SR) of dental components is significant because it impacts the surface area of the contact surface, which in turn affects corrosion behavior and biological compatibility. Orthodontic archwires (OA) with SR can affect the coefficient of friction, which in turn affects how effectively sliding biomechanics work and how the orthodontic appliance works efficiently.
Aim: The objectives of the present investigation were to examine the SR of five distinct kinds of OA using an atomic force microscope (AFM) and to assess the merits of using AFM to analyze orthodontic materials.

Aim: The purpose of the current study was to investigate the presence of the ponticulus posticus (PP) frequently encountered in lateral cephalograms.
Materials And Methods: About 500 patients of age 12-40 years were selected whose digital lateral cephalogram was recorded and traced to confirm the presence of the PP and categorize as: (A) Absent, as evidenced by lateral cephalograms. (B) Complete PP evidenced by the presence of circumferential bone bridge that connected the upper articular process to the atlas's posterior arch.

Background: Postendodontic restoration with composite resins has gained popularity due to the development of more reliable adhesives with simplified bonding procedures and less technique sensitivity. Pulpal floor dentin is a complex biological structure and a more challenging bonding substrate. Hence, appropriate selection of the bonding agent for these regions of the tooth is important.

Aim: The purpose of the current research was to assess the permeability of three various desensitizing techniques on dentinal tubule occlusion using a scanning electron microscope (SEM).
Materials And Methods: For this research, 100 human sound premolar teeth that were extracted for orthodontic purposes were gathered. With the aid of a water-cooled diamond saw, the teeth were divided in a mesiodistal (vertically) orientation.
Background ABO blood group types are hereditary factors that have been shown to affect the blood levels of many antigens and proteins. Some blood groups have surprisingly been shown to be associated with some specific diseases, probably due to yet unexplained altering effects on the immune system or on the levels of other system-specific proteins. Studies conducted previously attempting to relate bronchial asthma and blood groups have had variable results and such studies on a large scale have not been ventured in India.

Aim: Damage to the inferior alveolar nerve (IAN) during bilateral sagittal split osteotomy (BSSO) causes neurosensory disturbances (NSD) of the lower lip and chin. The study aims to investigate the pre-operative position and course of the mandibular canal using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) and orthopantomogram (OPG) and compare if there is any difference in NSD following the BSSO setback procedure.
Materials And Methods: This is an observational study.

Idiopathic gingival fibromatosis (IGF) is a rare, benign, slow-growing proliferation of the gingival tissues involving both maxillary and mandibular gingiva. It is exacerbated during the eruptive phase of both primary and permanent dentitions. The purpose of this article is to report the case of a 10-year-old boy who presented with IGF whose gingival enlargement covered the occlusal surfaces of many teeth and displaced the erupting dentition, compromising the patient's cosmetics, function, speech and development.

Assessment of growth factors with three different platelet preparations namely platelet rich fibrin, platelet rich plasma and lyophilized platelet-An invitro study Abstract Enhancing wound healing with patients own blood, particularly the platelet preparations have gained more popularity recently. These platelets excrete large amount of growth factors and cytokines that are associated with the healing process and regeneration. Even though these platelet concentrates are widely used in various forms, the mechanism behind that remains unclear.

Background And Objectives: The maxillary central incisor is the dominant element of anterior dental composition and hence should be restored or replaced with proper proportion of width and length for better aesthetic results. However, the literature is not clear regarding verifiable guidelines for the determination of proportions of the teeth. The aim of this study was to investigate the existence and suitability of Golden Rectangle, Recurring Aesthetic Dental Proportion, and Golden percentage between the widths of maxillary anterior teeth in individuals with natural dentition, with the aid of digital photographs and computer analysis.
