Aims: In children with Down syndrome (DS) which causes cognitive impairment and intellectual disability (ID), dysfunctional voiding is proposed to be more common than in the normal population. In this study, we aimed to compare the voiding symptoms of DS children with a control group by validated questionnaires.

Methods: Thirty-seven DS children without any previous urological complaints and 59 non-DS healthy children as control group was included in the study.

Serum levels of spexin are increased in the third trimester pregnancy with gestational diabetes mellitus.

Spexin is a peptide that is involved in energy homeostasis and its expression is influenced by altered glucose metabolism. Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is associated with increased insulin resistance (IR) and pregnancy is a progressive insulin resistant state. We hypothesized that spexin may have an effect on the pathophysiology of GDM which further could help to identify the disease.

To evaluate the effects of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) on erectile functions and serum testosterone levels in patients with erectile dysfunction (ED). The patients treated by HBOT for several diseases between July 2017-May 2018 and had erectile dysfunction were included in the study. All patients filled the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF) questionnaire form; serum total testosterone (TT) and free testosterone (FT) levels were examined before the first day and after the last day of HBOT.

Miliary microemboli of the retinal arterioles and choriocapillaris after subcutaneous injection of triamcinolone acetonide.

Purpose: To report a case of triamcinolone crystals associated miliary microemboli of the retinal arterioles and choriocapillaris.

Methods: A 30-year-old woman with alopecia areata on her left auriculotemporal scalp, scheduled for 10 mg/ml triamcinolone acetonide steroid injections (maximum volume of 3 ml per session) for 1 month intervals, presented with a sudden decrease in vision in her left eye after 1 ml injection in a dermatology clinic.

Results: On ocular examination her best corrected visual acuity (BCVA) was hand movement in the left eye.

The aim of this study is to determine the difference of survival rate between subtypes of N1 disease in surgically resected non-small cell lung cancer patients and to compare the survival in these patients with multi-N1 and single N2 (skip metastasis) disease.

Methods: Patients who underwent anatomical pulmonary resection in our institution between 2007 and 2014 with a pathological diagnosis of N1 and single N2 positive non-small cell lung cancer were included in the study.

Constipation is a health problem commonly seen in the elderly. In the present study, the effect of abdominal massage on constipation in the elderly was examined. The study sample consisted of 22 elderly people residing in a nursing home in the province of Manisa who were suffering from constipation in June 2014 to February 2015.

Prognostic value of plasma ST2 in patients with non-ST segment elevation acute coronary syndrome.

Objective: The aim of this study is to detect plasma ST2 levels in patients who were admitted to emergency department with chest pain and diagnosed with non st segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) and to research the relationship between 28-day mortality and ST2 levels.

Methods: The present study was conducted at Emergency Department of Celal Bayar University Hafsa Sultan Hospital between September 2015 and January 2016 as a prospective, single-center, cross-sectional study. Plasma ST2 levels were detected in patients who were diagnosed with NSTEMI based on physical examination, ECG and troponin.

Validity and Reliability of the Turkish Chronic Pain Acceptance Questionnaire.

Background: Pain acceptance is the process of giving up the struggle with pain and learning to live a worthwhile life despite it. In assessing patients with chronic pain in Turkey, making a diagnosis and tracking the effectiveness of treatment is done with scales that have been translated into Turkish. However, there is as yet no valid and reliable scale in Turkish to assess the acceptance of pain.

Materials And Methods: Twenty patients (40 eyes) were involved in this prospective, nonrandomized study. Refractive multifocal IOLs (ReZoom NXG1) were implanted in patients' dominant eyes and diffractive multifocal IOLs (Tecnis ZMA00) were implanted in their non-dominant eyes.

Methods: A total of 60 eyes from 60 patients were included in this prospective study. Spectral-domain optical coherence tomography images were generated using the Spectralis OCT system.

Objectives: To determine the locoregional control and survival rates (in terms of risk factors) of patients who underwent surgical resection of early-stage lip cancer and for whom a 'wait and see' policy in terms of neck status had been implemented.

Methods: The sociodemographic data, tumour stage, tumour characteristics and histopathological features of 41 patients with early-stage lip cancer were evaluated. Factors predictive of survival and locoregional recurrence were analysed.
