In the present study, biopolymeric Schiff base (SB) ligands were synthesized from chitosan and isatin. Consequently, their earth abundant transition metal complexes of cobalt and copper were synthesized. All compounds were extensively characterized using FTIR and UV spectroscopy, thermo-gravimetric (TG) analysis, X-ray powder diffraction (XRD) and FESEM (field emission scanning electron microscopy).

Triazole, a nitrogen-containing five-membered heterocycle with two isomeric forms, 1,2,3-triazole and 1,2,4-triazole, has proven to be a valuable component in the pharmaceutical domain. Owing to its widespread utility in drug development, pharmaceutical and medicinal chemistry, several synthetic methods have been explored, such as different catalytic systems, solvents, and heating methodologies in recent years. However, some methods were associated with several limitations, such as harsh reaction conditions, high temperatures, low atom economy, and long reaction times.

Background: In the context of research priority-setting, participants express their research priorities and ideas in various forms, ranging from narratives to explicit topics or questions. However, the transition from these expressions to well-structured research topics or questions is not always straightforward. Challenges intensify when research priorities pertain to interventions or diagnostic accuracy, requiring the conversion of narratives into the Participant, Intervention, Comparator, Outcome (PICO) format.

Hydroxyapatite (HAP) nano-coatings on titanium alloys (for example, Ti6Al4V) have been used for prosthetic orthopedic implants in recent decades due to their osseointegration, bioactivity, and biocompatibility. HAP is brittle with low mechanical strength and poor adhesion on metallic surfaces, which limits its durability and bioactivity. Surface modification techniques have alleviated the imperfection of biomaterials by coating the substrate.

In this paper, a comprehensive energy management framework for microgrids that incorporates price-based demand response programs (DRPs) and leverages an advanced optimization method-Greedy Rat Swarm Optimizer (GRSO) is proposed. The primary objective is to minimize the generation cost and environmental impact of microgrid systems by effectively scheduling distributed energy resources (DERs), including renewable energy sources (RES) such as solar and wind, alongside fossil-fuel-based generators. Four distinct demand response models-exponential, hyperbolic, logarithmic, and critical peak pricing (CPP)-are developed, each reflecting a different price elasticity of demand.

Herein, novel hollow ZnO and ZnO@SnInS core-shell nanorods (NRs) with controlled shell thickness were developed via a facile synthesis approach for the efficient photocatalytic remediation of organic as well inorganic water pollutants. The introduction of SnInS shell layer coating over ZnO enhances visible light absorption, efficient exciton-mediated direct charge transfer, and reduces the band gap of ZnO@SnInS core-shell nanorods. The ZnO@SnInS core-shell nanorods show efficient solar-light driven catalytic efficiency for the disintegration of industrial dye (orange G), degradation of tetracycline, and reduction of hazardous Cr (VI) ions in aquatic systems.

The management of brain tumors has been hampered by many different factors, including the impermeability of the BBB, which restricts the delivery of chemotherapeutic agents to the tumor site, as well as intertumoral heterogeneity and the influence of brain tumor stem cells. In addition, small molecular weight drugs cannot specifically accumulate in malignant cells and have a limited circulation half-life.

As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to reshape education, concerns about the authenticity of student work have escalated, particularly in relation to written assignments influenced by AI-powered tools. This paper explores the role of the oral examination as a valuable method for assessing true student understanding and considers its potential for broader use across various educational levels. We propose that oral exams could be effectively integrated into undergraduate courses, providing a means to verify student comprehension in an era of AI-generated content.

The integration of nanotechnology into antiretroviral drug delivery systems presents a promising avenue to address challenges posed by long-term antiretroviral therapies (ARTs), including poor bioavailability, drug-induced toxicity, and resistance. These limitations impact the therapeutic effectiveness and quality of life for individuals living with HIV. Nanodrug delivery systems, particularly nanoemulsions, have demonstrated potential in improving drug solubility, enhancing bioavailability, and minimizing systemic toxicity.

Vitamin E is renowned for its potent antioxidant properties, crucial for shielding cells against oxidative stress and damage. Deficiency in this vitamin can lead to various health issues, including neurodegenerative diseases, due to its pivotal role in preserving cell membrane integrity and combating cellular oxidative damage. While its importance for overall health, including neurodegeneration, is acknowledged, the specific correlation between vitamin E deficiency and distinct ocular neurodegenerative disorders need to be further explored.

Bismuth-based photocatalysts proved to have remarkable photoactivity for antibiotic degradation from water. However, the two significant challenges of bismuth-based photocatalysts are the fast charge recombination rate and higher energy band gap. This study successfully synthesised a novel I-Bi/BiWO/MWCNTs (C-WBI) heterostructure composite photocatalysts with shorter energy band-gap and higher charge production capability through interfacial amidation linkage.

Multi-omics approaches are revolutionizing cancer research and treatment by integrating single-modality omics methods, such as the transcriptome, genome, epigenome, epi-transcriptome, proteome, metabolome, and developing omics (single-cell omics). These technologies enable a deeper understanding of cancer and provide personalized treatment strategies. However, challenges such as standardization and appropriate methods for funneling complex information into clinical consequences remain.

Background And Objectives: Psychosis is one of the major neuropsychiatric non-motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease (PD). Prolonged latency and decreased amplitude of the P300 event-related potential (ERP) is a potential neurophysiologic biomarker of deeper neurocognitive deficits in PD. We aimed to characterize electroencephalogram (EEG)/ERP parameters in PD patients with and without psychosis (PDP and PDNP, respectively), and to determine if such measures could act as endophenotypes for PD-associated psychosis (PDP).

Background: Diabetes and associated diabetic foot ulcers require coordinated management, including several health care professional (HCPs). Therefore, an interprofessional (IP) team-based approach is essential for effectively managing and educating the population on diabetic foot self-management strategies. However, the perceptions of the HCPs related to the importance of IP teamwork in diabetic foot care and their readiness to work in an IP team are less explored.

Background: Temporary pacemaker lead implantation is a common low-risk procedure, but can occasionally get complicated by infections, arrhythmias, thromboembolic events, and perforation of the vessel or the heart. However, intracardiac knotting of the temporary pacemaker lead has been rarely reported. This could lead to vascular or valvular injury, pneumothorax, symptomatic loss of pacing or haemodynamic compromise, and difficult lead removal.
