Background And Purpose: Anticipatory postural adjustments (APA) and compensatory postural adjustments (CPA) have played a vital role in postural control since early childhood, which is critical to accomplishing activities in daily life. However, literature indicated dissimilarities and inconsistencies in APA and CPA analysis in sitting and standing positions in children with Cerebral Palsy (CP). Thus, this study analyzed the changes in postural control (APA and CPA) through the postural muscles [rectus abdominis (RA) and erector spinae (ES)] in both standing and sitting positions during functional activities (grasping a ball) in children with CP.

A study to evaluate the influence of non-axial forces on tooth - a split mouth cross-sectional study.

J Adv Prosthodont

December 2024

Department of Prosthodontics and Crown & Bridge, AB Shetty Memorial Institute of Dental Sciences, NITTE Deemed to be University, Mangalore, India.

Purpose: Proper tooth alignment directs occlusal forces along the long axis, supporting optimal masticatory function and periodontal health. Deviations that lead to non-axial forces are common; however, teeth with such deviations often maintain optimal health. This study aims to assess various occlusal and periodontal parameters in teeth experiencing non-axial forces to better understand the underlying reasons and mechanisms that contribute to their maintained health status.

Background Clinicians use prognostic biomarker/multi-gene-based tests for predicting recurrence in hormone receptor-positive/HER2-negative (HR+/HER2-) early-stage breast cancer (EBC). CanAssist Beast (CAB) uses the expression of five protein biomarkers in combination with tumor-specific parameters such as tumor size, histopathological grade, and lymph node status to predict the risk of distant recurrence within five years of diagnosis for patients with HR+/HER2-, EBC. The current study aimed to evaluate the impact of prognostic tests on adjuvant chemotherapy decisions by assessing the agreement between clinical and CAB risk stratification as low-risk (LR) or high-risk (HR) for distant recurrence.

Background Wound healing in diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) is hindered by several physiological and biochemical abnormalities, including prolonged inflammation, an imbalance in extracellular matrix (ECM) synthesis and degradation, insufficient neovascularization, and reduced macrophage activity. In DFUs, excessive and uncontrolled matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) degrade the ECM and impede wound healing. Matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) concentration plays a key role in inflammation and ECM degradation.
