Endodontic treatment, essential for preserving teeth affected by pulp or periapical diseases, often encounters challenges such as complex root canal anatomies and calcifications that can hinder success. Traditional techniques, although effective, are limited in addressing these complexities. Guided endodontics, which utilizes advanced imaging and navigation technologies, promises enhanced accuracy and precision, potentially improving treatment outcomes.

Article Synopsis
  • Periodontitis is a bacterial infection that damages tissue supporting teeth, primarily driven by high levels of harmful microorganisms, making effective treatment crucial.
  • This case report investigates the effectiveness of non-surgical therapies, specifically tetracycline fibers and photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT), alongside scaling and root planing (SRP) in treating periodontal disease.
  • The study emphasizes that combining tetracycline fibers, which provide targeted antimicrobial effects, and PBMT, which promotes healing through low-intensity light exposure, can significantly enhance periodontal therapy outcomes.

Sensitivity of different part-mouth recording methods using a modified tooth wear index.

Minerva Dent Oral Sci

July 2024

Multidisciplinary Department of Medical-Surgical and Odontostomatological Specialties, Luigi Vanvitelli University of Campania, Naples, Italy -

Background: High prevalence of tooth wear (TW) worldwide makes it important to assess its level in different populations. In developing countries, a shift towards geriatric population makes the evaluation of this condition even more relevant. Most indices for tooth wear are full mouth indices, which make mass population screening challenging.

Assessing muscle energy technique and foam roller self-myofascial release for low back pain management in two-wheeler riders.

Sci Rep

May 2024

Rehabilitation Research Chair, Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, College of Applied Medical Sciences, King Saud University, 11433, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Pain in the lower back is a major concern in today's era due to prolonged sitting in two-wheeler riders, mainly due to hamstring tightness. It also creates physical disability and impairment in activities of daily living. The study aimed to compare the efficacy of muscle energy technique (MET) and self-myofascial release (SMFR) using the foam roller on hamstring flexibility, dynamic balance, and physical disability amongst two-wheeler riders with chronic low back pain (LBP).

Article Synopsis
  • The study introduces a new cephalometric measure called the Zeta angle, designed to assess the maxillomandibular relationship in individuals with sagittal skeletal dysplasia.
  • Using 291 lateral cephalograms of young participants, researchers classified skeletal relationships and measured the Zeta angle to identify discrepancies in jaw alignment.
  • Findings suggest specific ranges of the Zeta angle correlate with skeletal class types, showing strong sensitivity and specificity for distinguishing between skeletal classes II and III.

A fuel cell, an energy conversion system, needs analysis for its performance at the design and off-design point conditions during its real-time operation. System performance evaluation with logical methodology is helpful in decision-making while considering efficiency and cross-correlated parameters in fuel cells. This work presents an overview and categorization of different fuel cells, leading to the developing of a method combining graph theory and matrix method for analyzing fuel cell system structure to make more informed decisions.

Microbe assisted depolymerization of lignin rich waste and its conversion to gaseous biofuel.

J Environ Manage

December 2021

Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), R&D Centre, Sector 13, Faridabad, 121007, Haryana, India. Electronic address:

Biomethanation potential of lignin rich residue (LRR) obtained from lignocellulosic ethanol fermentation was evaluated after subjecting to microbe assisted pretreatment using selectively enriched lignin depolymerizing consortia (LDC). The efficiency of LDC in lignin depolymerization was established using alkali and dealkali lignins (AL and DL) along with LRR as feedstocks. Microbial growth on media having lignin as sole carbon source, activity of lignin depolymerizing enzymes, viz.
