Background: This study aims to identify factors predicting recurrence and unfavorable prognosis in cN+ patients who have undergone sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) following neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC).
Methods: The retrospective multi-centre "MF18-02" and the prospective multi-centre cohort registry trial "MF18-03" (NCT04250129) included patients with cT1-4N1-3M0 with SLNB+/- axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) post-NAC.
Results: A total of 2407 cN+ patients, who later achieved cN0 status after NAC and subsequently underwent SLNB, were studied.

A retrospective cohort study was conducted in Malta to assess the prevalence of threatened miscarriage. The study focuses on cases managed at a local state hospital over a 12-month period. Currently, data on pregnancies prior to 22 weeks' gestation are not publicly available, which hampers understanding of the frequency and impact of threatened miscarriage.

As online video and streaming platforms continue to grow, affective computing research has undergone a shift towards more complex studies involving multiple modalities. However, there is still a lack of readily available datasets with high-quality audiovisual stimuli. In this paper, we present GameVibe, a novel affect corpus which consists of multimodal audiovisual stimuli, including in-game behavioural observations and third-person affect traces for viewer engagement.

Insufficient quality of the underlying cause of death in the Brazilian Mortality Information System (SIM), acronym in Portuguese underlists violence and it is necessary to redistribute garbage causes (GC) into valid causes in public health prevention. This study estimated mortality from external causes using the GC redistribution method (GBD-Brazil) and compared it with SIM and estimated data from the GBD-IHME study from 2010 to 2019 in Brazil and its states. The GBD-Brazil GC redistribution algorithm applies previous steps of the GBD-IHME with modifications, using two criteria: proportion of target causes (valid) or reclassification of investigated causes.

Objective: To analyze the changes in the methodological aspects of the National Survey of School Health (PeNSE) and its comparability with the Global School-based Student Health Survey (GSHS).
Methods: This evaluative study that utilized the PeNSE questionnaires from 2009, 2012, 2015, and 2019, and the GSHS questionnaires from 2013-2017 e 2018-2020. The variables analyzed included the sample size, representativeness and geographic stratification of PeNSE, the number of questions in PeNSE, the percentage similarity of the PeNSE 2019 relative to the 2015, and its comparability with GSHS.

This study aimed to estimate the proportion of use of emergency contraception at least once in life among Brazilian adolescent students, as well as the association of individual, family, and community factors with use. A cross-sectional study was carried out, including 38,779 Brazilian adolescent students, aged 13 to 17 years, participating in the Brazilian National Survey of School Health (PeNSE) in 2019, who declared sexual initiation. The proportion of emergency contraception use at least once in life and the form of access to the method were estimated.

Progress in the management of critical care syndromes such as sepsis, Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), and trauma has slowed over the last two decades, limited by the inherent heterogeneity within syndromic illnesses. Numerous immune endotypes have been proposed in sepsis and critical care, however the overlap of the endotypes is unclear, limiting clinical translation. The SUBSPACE consortium is an international consortium that aims to advance precision medicine through the sharing of transcriptomic data.

The Developmental Origins of Health and Disease (DOHaD) concept has been established for three decades. Many studies have shown that, besides pregnancy, other plastic phases (mainly preconception, lactation, and infancy-adolescence) are also sensitive to environmental changes, including nutritional conditions, that can program health or disease later in life. This study compared the susceptibility of the gestation, lactation and adolescence to a high-fat diet (HFD) intervention to program rats into autonomic nervous system imbalance and cardiometabolic dysfunction in adulthood.

Background: Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) still has a relatively high complication rate, underscoring the importance of high-quality training. Despite existing guidelines, real-world data on training conditions remain limited. This pan-European survey aims to systematically explore the perceptions surrounding ERCP training.

Infertility was reported in approximately 15% of all heterozygous couples, with the male factor accounting for nearly half of the cases. This typically occurs due to low sperm production, sperm dysfunction, and sperm delivery obstruction. In this randomized controlled single-blind clinical trial, 90 infertile male subjects diagnosed with oligospermia, hypospermia, asthenozoospermia, or necrozoospermia were recruited.

Objective: The aim of this study was to develop quantitative structure-pharmacokinetics relationship (QSPKR) models for a group of xanthine derivatives with proven pharmacological activity and to investigate its applicability for the prediction of the pharmacokinetics of these compounds.
Methods: The SYBYL-X, KowWin, and MarvinSketch programs were employed to generate a total of fourteen descriptor variables for a series of new compounds: 7- and 7,8-substituted theophylline derivatives (GR-1-GR-8) and three well-known methylxanthines. Pharmacokinetic profiles of all compounds were determined after intravenous administration of studied compounds to cannulated male rats.

Lactation in dairy cows implies comprehensive endocrine and metabolic changes including a systemic electrolytic reaction. Previous studies have rarely considered these specific demands due to the influence of lactation periods. Therefore, this study aimed to assess the effects of early, middle, and late lactation phases on the dynamic changes in serum concentrations of progesterone (P4), 17β-oestradiol (E2), cortisol, and some electrolytes (Ca, Mg, Na, K, Cl, Pi) and biochemical parameters (alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), creatine kinase (CK), total bilirubin, urea, and iron (Fe) in 10 Holstein, 10 Brown Swiss, and 10 Modicana multiparous healthy dairy cows (4.

Neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) with skin manifestations present a significant health and societal problems challenge worldwide. This study aimed to analyzed factors associated with the knowledge, attitudes and practices (KAPs) of primary healthcare workers (HCW) concerning NTDs with skin manifestations in the Dakar region of Senegal. We conducted a cross-sectional study utilizing a semi-structured questionnaire which was administered to eligible HCW (general practitioners, nurses and midwives) working at the 24 health centers located in the Dakar region.

The transition of peptides or proteins along a misfolding continuum from soluble functional states to pathological aggregates, to ultimately deposit as amyloid fibrils, is a process that underlies an expanding group of human diseases-collectively known as protein-misfolding disorders (PMDs). These include common and debilitating conditions, such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and type-2 diabetes. Compelling evidence has emerged that the complex interplay between the misfolded proteins and biological membranes is a key determinant of the pathogenic mechanisms by which harmful amyloid entities are formed and exert their cytotoxicity.

Background: The rapid spread and increase of chikungunya (CHIKV) and dengue (DENV) cases in Brazilian regions in 2023 has raised concerns about the impact of arboviruses on public health. Epidemiological and genomic surveillance was performed to estimate the introduction and spread of CHIKV and DENV in Brazil.
Methods: This study obtained results from the Hermes Pardini (HP), a private medical laboratory, and the Health Department of Minas Gerais state (SES-MG).
