The aim of this study was to examine the effect of the modified light spectrum of glass containing red luminophore on the performance of the photosynthetic apparatus of two types of lettuce cultivated in soil in a greenhouse. Introduction: Natural killer (NK) cells plays a pivotal role in the control of viral infections, and their function depend on the balance between their activating and inhibitory receptors. The immune dysregulation observed in COVID-19 patients was previously associated with downregulation of NK cell numbers and function, yet the mechanism of inhibition of NK cell functions and the interplay between infected cells and NK cells remain largely unknown.

Methods: In this study we show that SARS-CoV-2 infection of airway epithelial cells can directly influence NK cell phenotype and functions in the infection microenvironment.

Despite the plethora of research that exists on recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2 and -7 (rhBMP-2 and rhBMP-7) and has been clinically approved, there is still a need to gain information that would allow for their more rational use in bone implantology. The clinical application of supra-physiological dosages of these superactive molecules causes many serious adverse effects. At the cellular level, they play a role in osteogenesis and cellular adhesion, migration, and proliferation around the implant.
