Objectives: Debates on the management of macrosomia are still current. We have to consider the consequences of screening to contribute to these discussions. Our aim is to study the consequences of the 3rd trimester fetal macrosomia screening protocols used in several centres in the same French region in order to determine whether this screening affects maternal and neonatal outcomes: mode of delivery, maternal complications (haemorrhage, perineal lesions), neonatal health (pH, Apgar score) and the occurrence of neonatal trauma during delivery.

Objectives: Minor salivary gland biopsy (MSGB) is a minimally invasive test used in suspected autoimmune diseases. Our study goal was to evaluate diagnostic performance of MSGB in children suspected of Sjogren's syndrome (SS).
Methods: We did a retrospective monocentric study on patients under 18 years old who had a MSGB between October 2011 and December 2021 at Bicêtre University Hospital.

Background: Emotion categorization has often been studied in the relapsing-remitting form of multiple sclerosis (RR-MS), suggesting an impairment in the recognition of emotions. The production of facial emotional expressions in RR-MS has not been considered, despite their importance in non-verbal communication.
Method: Twenty-five RR-MS patients and twenty-five matched controls completed a task of emotional categorization during which their faces were filmed.

Sociocognitive impairment is well known in the relapsing-remitting form of multiple sclerosis (RR-MS). The purpose of the present study was to assess explicit and implicit humor abilities in this population. Based on clinical observation and contrary to the current cognitive model, we hypothesized that implicit performances (happy facial expressions) would be better than explicit ones (humor judgment assessed by explicit humor comprehension, subjective feeling of amusement as a conscious appreciation of funniness, and verbal justifications of funniness).

Background: Social cognition impairments are a common feature of alcohol use disorders (AUD). However, it remains unclear whether these impairments are solely the consequence of chronic alcohol consumption or whether they could be a marker of vulnerability.
Methods: The present study implemented a family history approach to address this question for a key process of social cognition: theory of mind (ToM).

The model of humour comprehension-elaboration postulates that the feeling of amusement follows serially upon humour comprehension. Yet, in clinical practice, patients with impaired humour comprehension may show typical happy facial expressions, suggesting a preservation of amusement feeling. The aim of the present study was to test the hypothesis of a potential implicit processing pathway to add to the explicit pathway described in the model.

Cholinergic antagonists interfere with synaptic transmission in the central nervous system and are involved in pathological processes in patients with neurocognitive disorders (NCD), such as behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD). In this commentary, we will briefly review the current knowledge on the impact of cholinergic burden on BPSD in persons with NCD, including the main pathophysiological mechanisms. Given the lack of clear consensus regarding symptomatic management of BPSD, special attention must be paid to this preventable, iatrogenic condition in patients with NCD, and de-prescription of cholinergic antagonists should be considered in patients with BPSD.

Introduction: RA-BE-REAL has the overall aim of defining a profile of patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) starting baricitinib or any other targeted synthetic (ts) or any biologic (b) disease-modifying antirheumatic drug (DMARD) for the first time, and the primary objective of estimating time until discontinuation from any cause (excluding sustained response) of the initial treatment.
Methods: RA-BE-REAL is an ongoing, prospective, observational, 36-month study in patients with RA initiating treatment with baricitinib (cohort A) or any other tsDMARD or any bDMARD (cohort B) for the first time. The primary objective is to assess the time until treatment discontinuation from any cause (excluding sustained response) at 24 months, (i.

Introduction: We aimed to evaluate the efficacy and tolerance of A1 pulley release using the needle technique, under ultrasound guidance, in patients with symptomatic trigger finger.
Methods: All patients with symptomatic trigger finger underwent A1 pulley release using an intramuscular 21 gauge (G) needle. Quinnell grade (I-IV), Quick Disabilities of Arm, Shoulder & Hand (QuickDASH) score (0-100) and pain score on a visual analog scale (VAS: 0-10mm) were recorded at inclusion.

Acute hypersensitivity reactions to drugs occur infrequently during anaesthesia and the peri-operative period. When clinical presentation includes the classical triad, erythema, cardiovascular abnormalities and increased airway pressure, the diagnosis is evident and the challenge is to prescribe a therapeutic regimen according to guidelines and to manage refractory signs in a timely manner. In many situations, however, the initial clinical signs are isolated, such as increased airway pressure or arterial hypotension.

BackgroundToxoplasmosis during pregnancy can result in congenital anomalies or fetal death. Universal antenatal screening is recommended in France, a strategy in place since the 1970s.AimWe determined the seroprevalence of toxoplasmosis among pregnant women participating in the 2016 national perinatal survey (ENP), compared results with previous ENPs, and investigated factors associated with infection.
