The treatment and regeneration of bone defects, especially tumor-induced defects, is an issue in clinical practice and remains a major challenge for bone substitute material invention. In this research, a composite material of biomimetic bone-like apatite based on trace element co-doped apatite (Ca M (PO)(CO)(OH); M = trace elements of Mg, Fe, Zn, Mn, Cu, Ni, Mo, Sr and BO ; THA)-integrated-biocompatible magnetic Mn-Zn ferrite ((Mn, Zn)FeO nanoparticles, BioMags) called THAiBioMags was prepared a co-precipitation method. Its characteristics, , physical properties, hyperthermia performance, ion/drug delivery, were investigated using osteoblasts (bone-forming cells) and using zebrafish.

Carbon dioxide (CO) photoreduction is an intriguing approach that converts CO into high-value substances with the assistance of a photocatalyst. Key to effective photoreduction is to promote the interaction of photo-induced holes and a sacrificial reagent (SCR), separating the holes from photoelectrons and enhancing the rate of the subsequent product generation. Methanol, ethanol, isopropanol, and water SCRs were tested for their ability to assist a copper-doped sodium dititanate nanosheets/graphene oxide heterostructure (CTGN) in CO photoreduction.

This study involved designing, synthesizing, and evaluating the protective potential of compounds on microglial cells (BV-2 cells) and neurons (SH-SY5Y cells) against cell death induced by Aβ. It aimed to identify biologically specific activities associated with anti-Aβ aggregation and understand their role in oxidative stress initiation and modulation of proinflammatory cytokine expression. DNA methylation occurs when a methyl group is added to a cytosine (C) residue's fifth carbon atom, forming 5-methylcytosine (5-mC). Cancer genomes have a distinct methylation landscape (Methylscape), which could be used as a universal cancer biomarker. This study developed a simple, low-cost, and straightforward Methylscape sensing platform using cysteamine-decorated gold nanoparticles (Cyst/AuNPs), in which the sensing principle is based on methylation-dependent DNA solvation.

Dual determination of nitrite and iron was proposed by using a single greener sequential injection (SI) spectrophotometric system employing a simple single aqueous extract from Linn. The extract served as a natural reagent to replace -(1-naphthyl)ethylenediamine (NED) of the Griess reagent with nitrite and 1,10-phenanthroline with iron. The color products possessed analytical wavelengths at 430 and 560 nm, respectively.

Multifunctional nanoparticles with special magnetic and optical properties have been attracting a great deal of attention due to their important applications in the bioanalytical and biomedical fields. In this study, we report the fabrication of biocompatible magneto-fluorescence nanoparticles consisting of carbon dots (CDots) and silica-coated cobalt-manganese nanoferrites (CoMnFeO) (CoMnF@Si@CDots) (MagSiCDots) by a facile hydrothermal method. The as-prepared MagSiCDots have a particle size of 100-120 nm and show a negative zeta potential of -35.

Iodine-131 -iodobenzylguanidine (I-IBG) has been utilized as a standard treatment to minimize adverse side effects by targeting therapies to bind to the norepinephrine transporter (NET) expressed on 90% of neuroblastoma cells. However, only a minority of patients who receive I-IBG radiotherapy have clinical responses, and these are usually not curative.
