Molt strategies have received relatively little attention in current ornithology, and knowledge concerning the evolution, variability and extent of molt is sparse in many bird species. This is especially true for East Asian species where assumptions on molt patterns are based on incomplete information. We provide evidence indicating a complex postbreeding molt strategy and variable molt extent among the Pallas's Grasshopper Warbler , based on data from six ringing sites situated along its flyway from the breeding grounds to the wintering areas.

Background: Nasal irrigation is widely used as an adjunctive treatment for rhinosinusitis. However, there is little information available regarding the efficacy of the devices used in this procedure. The objective of this study was thus to evaluate the effectiveness of nasal irrigation devices based on the experiences of patients with rhinosinusitis.

Not only does the syndrome cause skeletal abnormalities and myotonia, but it also affects the craniofacial development resulting in a severe constriction of maxillary arch and bimaxillary retrognathia which may increase a risk to develop pediatric OSA.

Thailand has a great diversity of ant fauna as a zoogeographical crossroads and biodiversity hotspot. The last publication presenting a Thai ant checklist was published in 2005. In the present paper, based on an examination of museum specimens and published records, a comprehensive and critical species list of Thai ants is synthesized.

The micropolydesmoid millipede family Haplodesmidae is here recorded from Cambodia for the first time through the discovery of the first, new species of the genus Silvestri, 1910: This new species is described from two limestone habitats in Kampot Province, based on abundant material. It is easily distinguished from all related congeners by the following combination of characters: body greyish-brown; limbus roundly lobulate; solenomere partially divided from acropodite by a digitiform lobe, but without hairpad. Brief remarks on the previously-proposed "-group" are provided and a second group, the "-group", is established and discussed on the basis of morphological evidence, updating the number of recognised species groups of to two.

Flow cytometric analysis of PBMCs from patients with either or malaria revealed a pronounced population of CD4 T cells co-expressing very high levels of CD4 and CD38 we have termed CD4CD38 T cells.

Two patients diagnosed early, received tocilizumab when the pneumonia became severe and survived. The thrid patient was diagnosed late and received tocilizumab when the disease progressed to acute respiratory distress syndrome, and died.

Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a global public health threat. Genomic surveillance of SARS-CoV-2 was implemented in March of 2020 at a major diagnostic hub in Bangkok, Thailand. Several virus lineages supposedly originated in many countries were found, and a Thai-specific lineage, designated A/Thai-1, has expanded to be predominant in Thailand.

Thrombosis in COVID-19 is increasingly recognized and is generally associated with a high mortality rate. The key clinical question of this report was whether COVID-19 could be complicated with cardiac thrombus and pulmonary embolism in Asian population. We demonstrated the case series of thrombosis in Thai patients with confirmed severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infection.

Background/objective: We report the first analysis of an extended half-life recombinant factor IX, nonacog beta pegol (N9-GP), in previously untreated patients (PUPs) and minimally treated patients with hemophilia B.
Methods: Paradigm 6 (Safety and Efficacy of Nonacog Beta Pegol [N9-GP] in Previously Untreated Patients With Haemophilia B) is a multicenter, open-label, single-arm, phase 3 trial. Main inclusion criteria were males aged < 6 years, with hemophilia B with factor IX (FIX) activity ≤ 2%, who were previously untreated or with ≤ 3 exposure days (EDs) to FIX-containing products.

Exophilic vectors are an important contributor to residual malaria transmission. Wearable spatial repellents (SR) can potentially provide personal protection in early evening hours before people retire indoors. An SR prototype for passive delivery of transfluthrin (TFT) for protecting humans against nocturnal mosquitoes in Kanchanaburi, western Thailand, is evaluated.

Purpose: Compare the efficacy(reintubation rate) between a high-flow nasal cannula(HFNC) and the WhisperFlow CPAP system in patients at risk for postextubation failure.
Material And Methods: RCT was conducted in patients who had at least one high-risk criterion for postextubation failure. All patients were randomly assigned to CPAP or HFNC for 48 h.

Near-infrared (NIR) fluorescent dyes have attracted increasing attention as fluorescent probes in biomedical applications due to their low biological autofluorescence as well as high tissue penetration depth. However, their being hydrophobic in nature limits their clinical use as they are prone to aggregate in the physiological environment. Herein, we have designed and synthesized a novel polymeric NIR fluorescent dye and then encapsulated it into a poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) matrix by way of an emulsion-diffusion technique.

Background And Objective: Ovarian, fallopian tube, or primary peritoneal cancer patients with BRCA gene mutation have enhanced sensitivity to platinum-based regimens and PARP inhibitors. However, the knowledge regarding BRCA mutation in Thai patients is limited. This study aimed at identifying the prevalence and characteristics of somatic and germline BRCA 1 and 2 mutations in Thai patients with these cancers.

Airborne spatial repellency (SR) is characterized and distinguished from other chemical actions including contact locomotor excitation and toxicity. The use of volatile spatial repellents is a potential new intervention class for combatting mosquito-borne pathogen transmission; therefore, continuing investigations on the actions of these chemicals that modify mosquito host-seeking behavior (i.e.

A dissection speed of ≥9 cm/h has been acknowledged as a mark for expertise, alongside a complication rate of ≤5% and en bloc resection rate of ≥90%. Prior to this study, few collections and records were made of the land snails in Cambodia and the historical taxa had never been reviewed. Herein a report on the land snail diversity based on specimens collected recently from karstic and non-karstic areas in southern Cambodia is provided. This checklist presents 36 species of land snails (two Neritimorpha, six Caenogastropoda, and 28 Heterobranchia).

The new species is remarkable in having a very distinctive corolla shape similar to , and staminal filament bases glabrous or nearly glabrous with a few multicellular, uniseriate hairs at the attachment point on the corolla tube. Detailed descriptions, illustrations, a summary of the ecology and an IUCN conservation status are provided.

(Lesson, 1842), commonly known as the buffalo leech, shows a polymorphism of two ventral colorations. The green color morph has a plain green ventral surface and the red color morph has a brick-red ventral surface with two black submarginal stripes. Based on molecular and morphological evidence in the present study, these two color morphs were revealed as two different species.
