Article Synopsis
  • Acute and chronic graft-versus-host disease (GvHD) are serious complications after allogeneic stem cell transplantation, and while steroids are the standard first-line treatment, there is a lack of consistent options for those who don't respond.
  • Ruxolitinib has emerged as a promising second-line therapy for patients with steroid-refractory GvHD, showing significant improvements in clinical trials, particularly in two phase-III randomized studies.
  • Despite its effectiveness, there are still unanswered questions about ruxolitinib's long-term use, indicating a need for further research and observation to enhance patient management strategies.*

Background: Intra- and juxta-articular osteoid osteomas are rare, representing less than 10% of all osteomas. Compared to the classic diaphyseal or metaphyseal site of long bones, they often have an atypical onset, a longest diagnostic delay, and frequent initial misdiagnoses, with pictures that can mimic inflammatory monoarthritis. We aimed to describe a case series, and to provide a literature review of this uncommon and misleading tumor location.

Background: Cancer treatment-induced bone loss (CTIBL) is the most common adverse event experienced by patients affected by breast cancer (BC) patients, without bone metastases. Bone modifying agents (BMAs) therapy is prescribed for the prevention of CTIBL, but it exposes patients to the risk of MRONJ.

Methods: This multicentre hospital-based retrospective study included consecutive non-metastatic BC patients affected by MRONJ related to exposure to low-dose BMAs for CTIBL prevention.

Background: Surgical delay (SD) techniques, performed before the nipple sparing mastectomy (NSM), are procedures conceived to improve the blood supply to the nipple-areola complex (NAC) in order to overcome the ischemic risk. The aim of the study is reporting our experience with SD of the NAC in the setting of NSM, identify the rate of nipple and skin necrosis and other complications and to evaluate patient satisfaction with cosmetic outcome.

Patients And Methods: A retrospective review of female patients, who underwent NSM and breast reconstruction between the July 2014 and the July 2019, was performed at the Breast Unit of San Giovanni-Addolorata Hospital in Rome.

Recently there has been a growing interest in non-pharmacological treatments for ADHD. We evaluated the efficacy of a specific Omega-3/6 dietary supplement (two capsules containing 279 mg eicosapentaenoic acid [EPA], 87 mg Docosahexaenoic Acid [DHA], 30 mg gamma linolenic acid [GLA] each) in ameliorating inattentive symptoms in inattentive-ADHD children (6-12 years) with a baseline ADHD-RS-Inattention score ≥ 12. Secondary objectives included changes in global functioning, severity of illness, depression, and anxiety symptoms, learning disorders and in the fatty acids blood levels.
