Neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) is increasingly used for high-risk breast cancer to achieve pathologic complete response (pCR), an indicator of event-free survival and favorable survival outcomes. Integrating MRI and Ki-67 biomarker analysis into predictive models offers a promising approach to optimize NAC response assessment and guide personalized treatment strategies. This study evaluates the validity of combined MRI and Ki-67 metrics for predicting pCR.

Clinical Evaluation of a Novel CRISPR-Cas12a-Based RID-MyC Assay for the Diagnosis of Fungal Endophthalmitis.

Objective: This study evaluated the RID-MyC (Rapid Identification of Mycoses using clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats [CRISPR]) assay, a CRISPR/Cas12a-based diagnostic tool, for its efficacy in diagnosing fungal endophthalmitis (FE) compared with panfungal polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and culture methods.

Design: A comparative cross-sectional study assessing the performance of the RID-MyC assay against established diagnostic modalities for FE.

In present study the green synthesis of silver oxide nanoparticles has been effectively achieved using novel plant extract Phragmanthera Macrosolen. This method provides sustainable alternative for nanoparticle synthesis, demonstrating the potential of Phragmanthera Macrosolen as a reducing and stabilizing agent in the production of AgO NPs. The synthesized nanoparticles were characterized for their structural, morphological, and optical properties, confirming their successful formation and potential applications in various fields.

Investigating antibacterial activity of biosynthesized silver oxide nanoparticles using Phragmanthera Macrosolen L. leaf extract.

The crude leaf extract of Phragmanthera macrosolen L. has been utilized for the first time as an effective reducing, capping and stabilizing agent to synthesize silver oxide nanoparticles (AgO NPs) through a green approach. The prepared AgO NPs were analyzed by scanning electron-microscopy (SEM), High Resolution Transmission electron microscope (HR-TEM), X-ray diffractions (XRD), Fourier transforms infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), and Ultra-violet visible spectrometry (UV-Vis).

Neuromelioidosis - A retrospective review of thirteen cases from a tertiary care centre from South India.

Neurologic melioidosis warrants attention in view of its rarity and lethal consequences. We performed a retrospective review of culture confirmed neurologic melioidosis reported between 2017 and 2023. Thirteen patients were identified with median age 43 years and all but three were males.

Objectives: We aimed to assess the improvement of patterned hair loss with microneedling radiofrequency (MNRF) and its adverse effects in patients.

Bacterial contamination of plasma is unusual owing to frozen storage nevertheless reported. We report a case of transfusion transmitted infection due to Burkholderia cepacia contaminating fresh frozen plasma. A 31 year old male with decompensated chronic liver disease presented with breathlessness due to pleural effusion.

Left Bundle Branch Block-associated Cardiomyopathy: A New Approach.

Left bundle branch block (LBBB) is frequently associated with structural heart disease, and predicts higher rates of morbidity and mortality. In patients with cardiomyopathy (ejection fraction <35%) and LBBB, current guidelines recommend cardiac resynchronisation therapy (CRT) after 3 months of medical therapy. However, studies have suggested that medical therapy alone would be less effective, and the majority of patients would still need CRT at the end of 3 months.

An improved AlexNet deep learning method for limb tumor cancer prediction and detection.

Synovial sarcoma (SS) is a rare cancer that forms in soft tissues around joints, and early detection is crucial for improving patient survival rates. This study introduces a convolutional neural network (CNN) using an improved AlexNet deep learning classifier to improve SS diagnosis from digital pathological images. Key preprocessing steps, such as dataset augmentation and noise reduction techniques, such as adaptive median filtering (AMF) and histogram equalization were employed to improve image quality.

In India, hypertension affects 21% of women and 24% of men, while pre-hypertension affects 39% of women and 49% of men.

Theoretical and experimental investigation of mixed-ligand metal(II) Schiff base complexes using maleic acid as the auxiliary ligand.

This work is focused on the synthesis of several transition metal complexes [ML(MA)], where M = Copper (II), Zinc (II), Cobalt (II) and Nickel (II), MA = maleic acid and L = Schiff base generated from benzene-1,2-diamine [phenylenediamine] and 4-chlorobenzaldehyde. The characterization using Fourier-Transform Infrared, Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy, Ultraviolet-Visible spectra, Mass, Electro Paramagnetic Resonance and elemental analysis confirm the square planar geometry of the complexes. The antimicrobial potential of the complexes has been tested by the broth dilution method and the antioxidant method has been done by free radical scavenging analysis.

Conduction system pacing compared with biventricular pacing for cardiac resynchronization therapy in patients with heart failure and mildly reduced left ventricular ejection fraction: Results from International Collaborative LBBAP Study (I-CLAS) Group.

Background: Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) is a guideline-recommended therapy in patients with heart failure with mildly reduced ejection fraction (HFmrEF, 36%-50%) and left bundle branch block or indication for ventricular pacing. Conduction system pacing (CSP) using left bundle branch area pacing or His bundle pacing has been shown to be a safe and physiologic alternative to biventricular pacing (BVP).

Background Phaeohyphomycosis, a fungal infection caused by dematiaceous fungi, presents a significant health challenge affecting both immunocompromised and immunocompetent individuals. Despite its clinical importance, phaeohyphomycosis remains underrepresented in epidemiological studies, leading to gaps in our understanding of its prevalence, clinical manifestations, and associated risk factors. This retrospective study conducted in South India aims to address these gaps by examining the incidence, diverse clinical presentations, and other relevant epidemiological aspects of phaeohyphomycosis in patients referred for pathological examination.
