The electrocatalytic oxygen and hydrogen evolution reactions (OER and HER) are key processes used in energy storage and conversion. We have developed a highly efficient MnCoO nanostructure anchored with functionalized carbon black (MnCoO/f-CB), which has been characterized by XRD, FT-IR, Raman spectra, FE-SEM, and HR-TEM analyses as robust bifunctional electrocatalysts for both HER and OER. At a characteristic 10 mA cm current density, the MnCoO/f-CB composite ECs exhibit low overpotentials of 330 mV for OER and 360 mV for HER, respectively.

For decades, achieving glycemic control, target blood pressure, and renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS) blockade remained to be the therapeutic interventions for retarding diabetic kidney disease (DKD) progression. The management of DKD showed major transformation when SGLT2 inhibitors were recommended to reduce the risk of progressive deterioration in estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), end-stage renal disease (ESRD), and renal death following results of CREDENCE and DAPA-CKD trials. Despite currently available therapeutic approaches, the risk of cardiac death, progression to ESRD, and requirement of renal replacement therapy remains high.

A simplified approach for efficiency analysis of machine learning algorithms.

PeerJ Comput Sci

November 2024

Department of Applied Mathematics and Computational Science, Thiagarajar College of Engineering, Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India.

The efficiency of machine learning (ML) algorithms plays a critical role in their deployment across various applications, particularly those with resource constraints or real-time requirements. This article presents a comprehensive framework for evaluating ML algorithm efficiency by incorporating metrics, such as training time, prediction time, memory usage, and computational resource utilization. The proposed methodology involves a multistep process: collecting raw metrics, normalizing them, applying the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to determine weights, and computing a composite efficiency score.
