Background: To ensure the validity and therapeutic utility of the Neck disability index (NDI) scale, translations, cultural adaptations and psychometric evidence is necessary. This study aimed to address the absence of a suitable and validated Hindi version of the NDI for the rural population. The specific objectives were to translate, adapt, and evaluate the psychometric properties of the newly developed Hindi version of the NDI.

Introduction Stroke is a major neurological event resulting from reduced or blocked blood flow to the brain, leading to significant morbidity. Immediate medical attention is essential to minimize brain damage and improve outcomes since it leads to many clinical deficits like locomotor impairment, instability in postural control, tonic alterations of the affected musculature, and an array of neurological dysfunctions if left unnoticed. Immersive virtual reality (VR) has emerged as a novel therapeutic tool in stroke rehabilitation, offering engaging and realistic environments for therapy.

Background: Persistent neck pain is a prevalent musculoskeletal condition that affects the quality of life and functional abilities of individuals. Blood Flow Restriction Training (BFRT) is a novel therapeutic approach that involves restricting blood flow to exercising muscles to enhance strength and function. However, limited research has been conducted on the effects of BFRT on pressure pain threshold and hand function in adults with persistent neck pain.

Herein we report four new arene ruthenium(II) complexes [Ru(η-p-cymene)(L1)кCl] (C1), [Ru(η-benzene)(L1)кCl] (C2) where L1 is N-((2,6-dimethylphenyl)carbamothioyl)benzamide (L1), and [Ru(η-p-cymene)(L2)кCl] (C3), [Ru(η-benzene)(L2)кCl] (C4) where L2 is N-((2,6-diisopropylphenyl)carbamothioyl)benzamide (L2) which were synthesized and evaluated for biological activity. The monodentate coordination of thione sulphur (S) to ruthenium ion along with two terminal chloride was confirmed by X-Ray diffraction analysis thus revealing a typical "piano-stool" pseudo tetrahedral geometry. DPPH radical scavenging activity showed that ligands were less efficient however on complex formation it showed significant efficacy with C4 showing the highest activity.

Background: In 2020, 203 million people experienced neck pain, with a higher prevalence in women. By 2050, it is predicted that neck pain will affect 269 million people, representing a 32.5% increase.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA population of entomopathogenic nematodes, belonging to the Feltiae-clade and labelled J13, was discovered in the agricultural soils of the hilly regions of the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, India. Based on morphological, morphometric, and molecular analyses, the nematodes were identified as Steinernema feltiae. The J13 nematode isolate was tested in a laboratory assay for its pathogenicity against six major pests of vegetable crops: Pieris brassicae, Plutella xylostella, Helicoverpa armigera, Agrotis iplison, Trichoplusia ni, and Exelastis atomosa.

Three entomopathogenic nematode populations were isolated from agricultural fields in the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir (India). Sequences of multiple gene regions and phenotypic features show that they are conspecific and represent a novel species. Molecular and morphological features provided evidence for placing the new species into the "" clade.

Cu(II) complexes supported by tetradentate amido-quinoline acyclic ligands (L1 & L2) have been synthesized, characterized, and employed as catalysts for aromatic C-H hydroxylation using HO as an oxidant in the absence of an external base with a high selectivity of around 90% for phenols the non-radical pathway (TON ≥720). The KIE value, various spectroscopic studies and DFT calculation supported the involvement of Cu(II)-OOH species.

Novel finding of aldehyde in 2-oxoaldehyde (2OA) is presented as it unprecedentedly disinclines to react with Grignard reagents but reacts with moderate organocuprate reagents in anaerobic condition to give [1,2] addition (α-hydroxyketones) reaction. In the presence of air, the reaction produces an efficient protocol for the synthesis of 1,2-diones through a copper-catalyzed oxidative cross-coupling reaction at room temperature. Mechanistic studies indicate that α-hydroxy ketone perhaps is generated before the hydrolysis step/acid work-up process.

With the aim to discover potent and novel antitumor agents, a series of thiourea compounds bearing 3-(4-methoxyphenyl)azetidine moiety were designed according to the essential pharmacophoric features of the reported VEGFR-2 inhibitors and synthesized. All the synthesized compounds were evaluated for their in vitro anticancer activity against various human cancer cell lines (lung (A549), prostate (PC3), breast (MCF-7), liver (HepG2), colon (HCT-116), ovarian (SKOV-3), skin (A431), brain (U251) and kidney (786-O)). 3-(4-Methoxy-3-(2-methoxypyridin-4-yl)phenyl)-N-(4-methoxyphenyl)azetidine-1-carbothioamide (3B) was found to be most potent member against PC3, U251, A431, and 786-O cancer cell lines with EC values 0.

Azetidines are almost unexplored among nitrogen-containing saturated heterocycles due to difficulties associated with their synthesis. However, over the past few years, attempts have been made by scientists to advance their synthetic feasibility. Compounds with the azetidine moiety display an important and diverse range of pharmacological activities, such as anticancer, antibacterial, antimicrobial, antischizophrenic, antimalarial, antiobesity, anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic, antiviral, antioxidant, analgesic, and dopamine antagonist activities, and are also useful for the treatment of central nervous system disorders and so forth.
