Li-rich cation-disordered rocksalt (DRX) materials introduce new paradigms in the design of high-capacity Li-ion battery cathode materials. However, DRX materials show strikingly sluggish kinetics due to random Li percolation with poor rate performance. Here, we demonstrate that Li stuffing into the tetrahedral sites of the Mn-based rocksalt skeleton injects a novel tetrahedron-octahedron-tetrahedron diffusion path, which acts as a low-energy-barrier hub to facilitate high-speed Li transport.

Synergistic photodynamic/photothermal therapy (PDT/PTT) can be used to target cancer cells by locally generating singlet oxygen species or increasing temperature under laser irradiation. This approach offers higher tumor ablation efficiency, lower therapeutic dose requirements, and reduced side effects compared to single treatment approaches. The intricacy, diversity, and heterogeneity of cancers make research focus on developing multimodal synergistic therapy strategies. Herein, an oxygen (O) self-feeding peroxisomal lactate oxidase (LOX)-based LOX-Ce6-Mn (LCM) was synthesized using a biomineralization approach, which was used for cascade chemodynamic therapy (CDT)/photodynamic therapy (PDT) combination therapies through dual depletion of lactate (Lac) and reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation. After endocytosis into tumor cells, the endogenous hydrogen peroxide (HO) can be converted to O by the catalase-like (CAT) activity of LCM, which can facilitate the catalytic reaction of LOX to consume more Lac and alleviate tumor hypoxia to enhance the generation of singlet oxygen (O) upon light irradiation.

Background: Plasma NT-proBNP (N-terminal pro-B-type natriuretic peptide) is commonly used to diagnose heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), but its diagnostic performance in the ambulatory/outpatient setting is unknown because previous studies lacked objective reference standards.

Methods: Among patients with chronic dyspnea, diagnosis of HFpEF or noncardiac dyspnea was determined conclusively by exercise catheterization in a derivation cohort (n=414), multicenter validation cohort 1 (n=560), validation cohort 2 (n=207), and a nonobese Japanese validation cohort 3 (n=77). Optimal NT-proBNP cut points for HFpEF rule out (optimizing sensitivity) and rule in (optimizing specificity) were derived and tested, stratified by obesity and atrial fibrillation.

Genomic analysis has played a significant role in the identification of driver mutations that are linked to disease progression and response to drug treatment in ovarian cancer.
