Background: Hand grip strength is a critical indicator of upper extremity function, especially important in healthcare professions. Effective upper extremity function relies on proximal stability from the scapula and distal mobility from hand actions. This study aimed to examine the relationship between scapular dyskinesia and hand grip strength in healthcare students with smartphone addiction.

Daily living physical activities of rural pregnant women, across most continents in the world, involve adoption of high-flexion postures like deep-squat. Deep-squat elicits substantial activation of major trunk and lower extremity muscles. Adequate strength of trunk muscles is known to facilitate forward-downward propulsion of baby during labour.

Guillain-Barré syndrome is a polyneuropathy that can be caused by an autoimmune condition or a bacterial infection. In typical GBS cases, there is hypo- or areflexia, symmetrical limb weakness that worsens within four weeks of the symptoms. The facial nerve is involved in this situation, which results in weak facial muscles, which, in turn, affect facial emotions and movements.

Pain science education (PSE) provides people with an understanding of "how pain works" grounded in the biopsychosocial model of pain; it has been demonstrated to improve outcomes in musculoskeletal pain conditions. Preliminary evidence suggests PSE may be effective for female individuals with persistent pelvic pain, but how the content of PSE needs to be modified for this group remains to be determined. A reflexive thematic analysis of qualitative data was performed to identify PSE concepts that female individuals with persistent pelvic pain consider important and why.

The aim of this study is to investigate postural stability and function (functional tasks) in younger (<12 yr) and older (>12 yr) children with lesser (<25°) and greater crouch (>25°) during stance. Postural stability and functional tasks were assessed in 53 ambulatory children with spastic cerebral palsy (CP). Younger and older children with greater crouch angle demonstrated higher displacement of center of pressure compared to children with lesser crouch angle during gait ( < .

Background: Post-COVID residual dysfunction has been observed in a majority of people, with reduction in cardiopulmonary endurance emerging as a primary symptom. The Six-Minute Walk Test is a simple, reliable, and valid test that is used routinely on people with chronic respiratory dysfunction. In the current COVID-19 pandemic situation, reference values and a predictive equation developed from a large sample across a large age group, from 6 to 75 years, will enable one to establish goals of treatment for post-COVID rehabilitation.

The objective of this review was to find out the best mode of auditory stimulation for preterm neonates admitted to the neonatal intensive care unit. We also aimed to find out the different effects of different types of auditory stimulation in these neonates. Advanced neonatal care and technological advances in neonatal intensive care units have led to increased survival of preterm-born neonates, but this in turn leads to increased incidences of disabilities like cerebral palsy, visual impairment, delayed social development, etc.

Cholangiocarcinoma (CCA), commonly referred to as Klatskin tumor (KT), is a rare cancer that develops from the epithelium of the intra- or extrahepatic bile duct. This case outlines the impact of physiotherapy rehabilitation in a post-operative case of a KT in a 58-year-old male who presented with complaints of abdominal pain, nausea, constipation, and difficulty in urinating and reportedly exhibited generalized weakness, weight loss, and dyspnea. Following investigations such as computed tomography (CT) scan, the patient was diagnosed with a KT for which he underwent hepaticojejunostomy and was kept under observation, following which supervised physiotherapy intervention (PI) commenced from post-operative day (POD) 3.

Background Stress is an episodic process in an individual's life that depends upon the circumstances that elicit this process, later jeopardizing an individual's mental balance and leading to depression and anxiety. Yoga is a traditional component of physical activity that contains three main domains, namely, maintaining the correct posture (asanas), control over one's breath (pranayama) and meditation with complete concentration (dhyana), which are proven to be effective in enhancing the psychological, physical, and spiritual wellbeing of an individual along with mindfulness. The purpose of the present study was to compare aerobic exercise (AE) and Suryanamaskar (SN) in terms of the best intervention in lowering the level of stress in medical professionals (MPs).

A prolapsed intervertebral disc (PIVD) refers to herniation of the nucleus pulposus out of the intervertebral space. Mechanical nerve compression brought on by a protruding nucleus pulposus and an increase in chemokines in the affected area causes the underlying pain, which is typically treated conventionally with surgery or medication. Nonetheless, these management strategies may not always be effective and may impact a person's quality of life.

Background: Dough kneading is a commonly performed activity in the kitchen, which influences hand grip strength.
Objectives: To study the influence of dough kneading exposure on hand grip strength and to evaluate the effect of dough kneading intervention on hand grip strength with the purpose of recommending dough kneading as a therapeutic exercise for improving hand grip strength.
Methods: One hundred and fifty healthy females with varying levels of exposure to dough kneading, stratified as occupational dough kneaders, habitual dough kneaders and non-kneaders, were studied.
A common cervical spine condition that frequently interferes with a patient's daily activities is chronic neck pain. The axioscapular muscle imbalance that results from increased middle trapezius activity in patients with non-specific chronic neck pain affects cervical spine stability and contributes to pain. A 67-year-old male, who was a retired office secretary, experienced neck pain for two years.

Lifestyle-related neck and shoulder pain can be attributed to trapezius myalgia (TM) in a significant number of cases. Apart from pain, manifestations of TM include tightness of the trapezius muscle, especially in the upper fibres. Naqvi's-Dynamic Electrical Therapy Approach (Naqvi's-DELTA)© is a novel electrotherapeutic intervention based on the principle of myofibril elongation obtained by interference of poled vector current that is moved along the length of muscle fibres.

Introduction: The ankle-foot complex is the third most common site of pain in Indian dancers. In Bharatanatyam dance, rhythmic stamping performed barefoot at varying speeds may influence the height of the medial longitudinal arch, causing structural alteration of the ankle-foot complex. As little information is available on the ankle-foot complex of Bharatanatyam dancers, the present study was conducted to test the hypothesis that foot characteristics of Bharatanatyam dancers differ from those of non-dancers.
