Most bee stings are not life-threatening. Bee venom often causes local, mild allergic reactions in people, but even a single bee sting may induce a fatal anaphylactic reaction. Usually, anaphylactic reaction is the cause of death, but, when a child suffers multiple stings (more than 30), direct toxicity of venom can also be fatal.

Introduction: Antibiotics are vital in managing infectious diseases that significantly burden health infrastructure in a developing country like India. However, the widespread and irrational use of antibiotics has given rise to the menace of antibiotic resistance that threatens to take us back to the pre-antibiotic era. Our study aimed to evaluate the baseline compliance to antibiotic policy in the pediatric inpatient ward and analyze the impact of interventions on compliance with the policy.

Purpose: To evaluate the association between the timing of intra-articular hip corticosteroid injections and the risk of postoperative infection in patients undergoing hip arthroscopy.
Methods: The 2010-2021 PearlDiver M157 administrative claims database was queried for patients who underwent hip arthroscopy. Patients who received intra-articular corticosteroid injections within 12 weeks prior to arthroscopy were matched 1:1 to patients who did not receive such injections based on age, sex, and Elixhauser Comorbidity Index, as well as the presence of diabetes mellitus, hypertension, obesity, and tobacco use.

Itraconazole (ITZ) has been the mainstay of oral antifungal treatment for the current epidemic of recalcitrant dermatophytosis (RD) in India. Recently, a newer formulation of ITZ, super bioavailable itraconazole (SUBA-ITZ), is made available in the market by many pharmaceutical companies. It is important for dermatologists to understand the pharmacokinetic properties of SUBA-ITZ vis-a-vis conventional pellet formulation to use it effectively and safely.

Antibiotic resistance is a pressing global health challenge, driven in part by the remarkable efflux capabilities of efflux pump in AcrB (Acriflavine Resistance Protein B) protein in Gram-negative bacteria. In this study, a multi-approached computational screening strategy encompassing molecular docking, absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion and toxicity (ADMET) analysis, druglikeness assessment, molecular dynamics simulations and density functional theory studies was employed to identify novel hits capable of acting against AcrB-mediated antibiotic resistance. Ligand library was acquired from the COCONUT database.

Purpose: Treatment of antibiotic-resistant Gram-positive infections (GPIs), including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) is becoming increasingly difficult, particularly in patients with multiple co-morbidities who require antibiotics with greater safety and a consistent pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) profile. Such difficult-to-treat GPIs are often associated with poor outcomes, extended hospital stay and increased expenditure. This can be partly attributed to the limited safety and aberrant PK/PD profile of existing anti-MRSA antibiotics.

Statement Of Problem: Rehabilitation of complete edentulous arches by using the all-on-4 dental implant treatment concept is a well-established procedure. Considering the popularity of YouTube as a source for health-related information, a thorough investigation of the content-quality and reliability of videos regarding the all-on-4 concept is lacking.
Purpose: The purpose of this cross-sectional analysis was to critically appraise the content-quality and reliability of YouTube videos regarding the all-on-4 dental implant treatment concept as a source of information for patients, students, and dentists.

Context: Anaemia is the most common nutritional deficiency in Indian pregnant females. It ensues foetal hypoxia resulting in different compensatory mechanisms in the foetus which may result in adverse perinatal outcomes. Colour Doppler can be used to measure these hemodynamic changes of the foetus ahead of the clinical manifestations, guiding the obstetrician for the appropriate management and circumventing any dire complication.

Background And Objectives: REM sleep behavior disorder (RBD) is a parasomnia characterized by dream enactment. The International RBD Study Group developed the RBD Symptom Severity Scale (RBDSSS) to assess symptom severity for clinical or research use. We assessed the psychometric and clinimetric properties of the RBDSSS in participants enrolled in the North American Prodromal Synucleinopathy (NAPS) Consortium for RBD.

Acute exudative polymorphous vitelliform maculopathy (AEPVM) is a rare entity characterized by acute multifocal macular detachment with polymorphous subretinal vitelliform deposits. The disease is a presumed retinal pigment epithelial dysfunction and is reported to occur with malignancies. We report a case of a 32-year-old otherwise healthy woman who presented with an acute bilateral visual disturbance a few days after testing positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Wastewater surveillance locally and globally is important for the investigation of the molecular epidemiological features of SARS-CoV-2 in the environment. The current study investigated the genomic diversity and mutation profile of SARS-CoV-2 variants in wastewater for the period spanning COVID-19 pandemic up to December, 2022. A total of 3618 complete SARS-CoV-2 genome sequences from waste water samples submitted to the GISAID database were retrieved.

Background: Knowledge of factors associated with TB mortality during treatment and post treatment will help us develop better monitoring and implementation strategies for TB control. We designed the present study to examine the factors associated with mortality in HIV-TB co-infected patients during and after the course of TB treatment.
Methods: This study is a cohort analysis of secondary data collected from 1804 HIV-TB co-infected individuals from 16 anti-retroviral therapy (ART) centres affiliated with the Mumbai Districts AIDS Control Society, Mumbai, India.

Background: First-line treatment of diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) achieves durable remission in approximately 60% of patients. In relapsed or refractory disease, only about 20% achieve durable remission with salvage chemoimmunotherapy and consolidative autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT). The ZUMA-7 (axicabtagene ciloleucel [axi-cel]) and TRANSFORM (lisocabtagene maraleucel [liso-cel]) trials demonstrated superior event-free survival (and, in ZUMA-7, overall survival) in primary-refractory or early-relapsed (high-risk) DLBCL with chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy (CAR-T) compared with salvage chemoimmunotherapy and consolidative ASCT; however, list prices for CAR-T exceed $400 000 per infusion.

Atrial fibrillation (AF) is a common cardiac arrhythmia that increases the risk of stroke and thromboembolism. Anticoagulation therapy can reduce this risk, but the optimal choice of anticoagulant in patients with AF and renal dysfunction is challenging. Renal dysfunction is a common comorbidity seen in patients with AF.

Introduction: Developmental dysplasia of hip (DDH) is an abnormal development of hip joint which when neglected in early age group can lead to joint pain and secondary osteoarthritic changes. Crowe types III and IV neglected DDH joint is widely managed with total hip arthroplasty with subtrochanteric shortening.
Case Report: A 52-year-old female presented with neglected DDH joint which was managed in two stages with femoral lowering followed by uncemented total hip arthroplasty without osteotomy.
