- The study aimed to evaluate how effective CSF Adenosine De-Aminase (ADA) levels are for diagnosing Tuberculous Meningitis (TBM), using CSF PCR testing for Mycobacterium DNA as the reference standard.
- Conducted over 1.5 years in Pakistan, the study included 136 patients and diagnosed TBM through clinical symptoms and CSF analysis, confirming results with PCR testing.
- Findings showed that CSF ADA had a diagnostic accuracy of 71.32% with high sensitivity (84.21%) and specificity (95.45%), suggesting it can be a useful tool for TBM diagnosis, especially where PCR testing isn’t accessible.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Optic Nerve Sheath Fenestration (ONSF) in patients with raised intracranial pressure (ICP).
Methods: This Quasi Experimental Study was conducted at Armed Forces Institute of Ophthalmology, Rawalpindi from July 2013 to July 2015. Thirty one eyes of 18 patients who underwent ONSF for raised ICP were followed up for one year to ascertain efficacy and safety of ONSF procedure.
