Lignin is the second most abundant biopolymer in nature and is considered an important renewable source of aromatic compounds. One of the most promising analytical methods for molecular characterization of lignin is Orbitrap high-resolution mass spectrometry with atmospheric pressure photoionization (APPI), proved itself in the study of lignins of various origins and their depolymerization products. In this work, the photoionization of lignin using acetone, 1,4-dioxane, and THF as solvents for the biopolymer and APPI dopants providing the generation of protonated and deprotonated molecules of lignin oligomers has been studied.

For the purpose of methodological justification of the use of new approaches to the organization of psychiatric care for veterans of military operations in departmental general hospital health care institutions, the analysis of existing problems in providing psychiatric care to retired combatants with mental disorders of the system of the Ministry of internal Affairs (MIA) of Russia was carried out. It is shown that the existing organizational approaches have a number of significant drawbacks and do not fully provide quality therapy and medical and psychological rehabilitation to this contingent. Proposed in the development Concept of the psychiatric service of MIA to provide targeted prevention work with ex-combatants, current employees of power structures, including early diagnosis of early forms of mental disorders, timely provision of treatment & rehabilitation help with subsequent systematic monitoring of their mental health in government health facilities.

The article presents the results related to the study of distribution of biologically active substances from the plant raw material between solid and liquid phases. The aim of this study is to develop theoretical bases of the extraction process in the equilibrium state by the example of study and modeling of the distribution process of biologically active substances from leaves. In these studies, we used ground plant raw material of leaves with particle fraction of 0.

Core Facility Center "Arktika", M.V. Lomonosov Northern (Arctic) Federal University, Northern Dvina Emb. 17, Arkhangelsk, 163002, Russia; Department of Chemistry, M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University, Leninskie Gory 1/3, Moscow, 119991, Russia.

Existing methods for cleanup of wastewaters and soils polluted with the extremely toxic rocket fuel unsymmetrical dimethylhydrazine (UDMH) are mainly based on the treatment with various oxidative reagents. Until now, the assessment of their effectiveness was based on the residual content of UDMH and did not take into account the possibility of the formation of a large number of potentially dangerous nitrogen-containing transformation products (TPs). In this study, using the recently developed approach based on high-resolution Orbitrap mass spectrometry, the comprehensive characterization of UDMH TPs formed by the action of air oxygen and different oxidants (Fenton's reagent, KMnO, HOCl, HO in the presence of Cu and [Fe (EDTA)] catalysts) typically used to detoxify spill sites was performed.

The use of matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization (MALDI) mass spectrometry for the study of lignin is still extremely limited due to its low ionization efficiency. We have developed an approach for obtaining high-intensity MALDI mass spectra of lignin, based on the use of ionic liquids as matrices. Thirty-two ionic liquids consisting of large nitrogen-containing cations and anions of aromatic acids, traditionally used as crystalline matrices, were tested.

The study involved 106 elderly people of the Arctic aged 61-74 years, 42 of them were residents of the Subarctic region (SR) and 64 residents of the Arctic region (AR). Using gas-liquid chromatography there was determined the serum content of saturated fatty acids (SFA): short-chain (SCFA), medium-chain (MCFA) and long-chain (LCFA); and the levels of carbohydrate metabolism parameters were determined by spectrophotometric methods. Correlation analysis showed that elderly people of SR had no significant interrelationships between the contents of SCFA, MCFA and LCFA, since all the correlation dependences were weak (r=0,2-0,29, p=0,08-0,786), against AR with a lower occurrence of high values of glucose (Glu), lactate (Lac) and low pyruvate (Pyr).

[Family care as a tool of mitigation the social risks of the elderly people in remote areas.].

Adv Gerontol

June 2019

Ministry of Labor and Social Development of Arkhangelsk region, 4/1 Gaidara str, Arkhangelsk 163061, Russian Federation, e-mail:

The purpose of the study was to analyze the foster family as tool of the social security system for elderly in remote northern territories. The significance of long-term previous relationships for building and microclimate of a foster family, relationship with the living environment as a socio-psychological support for reducing (eliminating) the risks of loneliness, social inclusion in society through a foster family has been revealed. It was noted that legally consolidated efforts of the state and family at the regional level faster respond to changing needs for various types of services, taking into account local socio-economic opportunities and cultural traditions, which helps to diversify the number of forms of services that directly affect risk reduction and meeting the needs of an elderly person.

1,1-Dimethylhydrazine is used as a fuel for carrier rockets in the majority of countries implementing space exploration programs. Being highly reactive, 1,1-dimethylhydrazine easily undergoes oxidative transformation with the formation of a number of toxic, mutagenic, and teratogenic compounds. The use of high-resolution mass spectrometry for the study of the reaction of 1,1-dimethylhydrazine oxidation with hydrogen peroxide in aqueous solution allowed us to find hundreds of nitrogen-containing products of the CHN and CHNO classes, formed via radical processes.

The aim of this work was the study of indicators of memory and intellectual activity among the elderly with different reading productivity. The results of the study showed that the elderly were distinguished by a greater number of errors when performing tasks on oral-aural, visual memory and visual-spatial activities. The mistakes made by subjects with low reading productivity may indicate dysfunction of tone and wakefulness, of receiving, processing and storing information, as well as weakening of hemispheric interaction.
