The coating formation technique for artificial knee ligaments was proposed, which provided tight fixation of ligaments of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) fibers as a result of the healing of the bone channel in the short-term period after implantation. The coating is a frame structure of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNT) in a collagen matrix, which is formed by layer-by-layer solidification of an aqueous dispersion of SWCNT with collagen during spin coating and controlled irradiation with IR radiation. Quantum mechanical method SCC DFTB, with a self-consistent charge, was used.

Serum levels of vascular endothelium growth factor were measured in 43 patients with adrenal tumors and 25 healthy subjects. The mean blood levels of the factor in patients with adrenal tumors significantly surpassed the control. No correlations between the level of vascular endothelium growth factor, patients age and sex were detected.

We carried out a retrospective immunohistochemical study of Ki-67, PCNA, Bcl-2, BAX, BclX, and VEGF expression in tumors of two groups of breast cancer patients with favorable and unfavorable course of the disease. Considerably enhanced VEGF expression was detected in tumors of patients with early relapses of breast cancer. High VEGF expression was paralleled by high level of Ki-67 and PCNA expression in tumors.

Our findings indicate that expression of matrix metalloproteinase-2 is an important prognostic marker of invasive potential of pancreatic tumors. Expression of this marker in neuroendocrine tumors (particularly in gastrinomas) can be used as a differential diagnostic criterion characterizing more malignant phenotype of tumors with the presence of ductal component. On the contrary, weak expression matrix metalloproteinase-9 is characteristic of less invasive phenotype of tumor cells (neuroendocrine and solid pseudopapillary tumors, mucinous cystadenomas).

Morphological examination of 22 functionally active adrenal pheochromocytomas was carried out. The content of catecholamine granules in tumor cells and in the number of sustentacular cells tended to decrease in metastasizing tumors. Electron microscopy showed two types of sustentacular cells and the possibility of their apoptotic death.
