Background: Studies have shown lower rates of cancer screening and high mortality rates among all Asian Americans than among non-Hispanic White populations. However, most of these studies often confound diverse Asian American subgroups with limited data on cancer screening for Indian Americans, with this group being particularly interesting because of their counterintuitive socioeconomic status. For this reason, the objective of this study is to evaluate knowledge of the United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) cancer screening guidelines and compliance among South Indian Americans residing in Southern California.

Introduction: Gender affirming hormone therapy (GAHT) is the mainstay treatment in transitioning individuals and has positive physical and psychological effects. Among the things to monitor in transgender patients on long-term hormones, bone health is an essential consideration. As the calcium intake in the Indian population is less, and many gender-incongruent individuals may not take adequate calcium in their diet, we needed data on the bone health of Indians with gender dysphoria as the information available globally may not apply to our population.

Background: Necrotising fasciitis is a rare and fulminant soft tissue infection. Prompt surgical debridement of the involved soft tissues and necrotic fascia is its definitive treatment, with any delay associated with increased mortality. The LRINEC score is a scoring system initially designed to aid in early diagnosis of necrotising fasciitis to facilitate early surgical intervention.

In this report, we present the case of a 24-year-old woman who experienced an injury after a fall, resulting in a rapidly enlarging vulvar hematoma.

Comparison of qSOFA Score, SIRS Criteria, and SOFA Score as predictors of mortality in patients with sepsis.

Objectives: Early diagnosis and treatment of sepsis are associated with a better outcome. With the change in the definition of sepsis, SOFA score and qSOFA score (heart rate, systolic blood pressure and Glasgow coma scale) were introduced and SIRS criteria were removed. This study compared the qSOFA score, SIRS criteria and SOFA score as predictors of mortality in patients with sepsis.

Dysautonomia is a common and severe complication of Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), which may manifest as cardiac arrhythmias, labile blood pressure, diaphoresis, and changes in gastrointestinal motility. Takotsubo cardiomyopathy (TCM) is a life-threatening manifestation of dysautonomia in patients with GBS, which is not widely underlined in the literature.
