According to WHO, Ukraine has the fourth-highest Tuberculosis (TB) incidence in the WHO European region while globally has the fifth-highest number of confirmed cases of extensively drug-resistant TB. Before the Russian invasion in Ukraine several interventions have been employed to mitigate the TB epidemic in the country. However, the ongoing war has demolished meticulous efforts and subsequently worsen the situation.

Combining chemotherapy with immunotherapy still remains a regimen in anticancer therapy. Novel 4-thiazolidinone-bearing hybrid molecules possess well-documented anticancer activity, and together with anti-HER2 antibodies, may represent a promising strategy in treating patients with gastric cancer with confirmed human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) expression. The aim of the study was to synthesize a new 4-thiazolidinone derivative (Les-4367) and investigate its molecular mechanism of action in combination with trastuzumab or pertuzumab in human AGS gastric cancer cells.

Background/aims: Changes in autonomic regulation and psychological distress play an important role in the pathobiology of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The aim of the current study is to evaluate the autonomic function and to link it to the levels of somatization in adolescents with IBS.
Methods: We enrolled 30 adolescents with various types of IBS and 35 healthy controls.
Objective: The aim: To perform a morphometric assessment of the coronary arteries ostia by intravascular ultrasound with morphological evaluation among the Ukrainian population.
Patients And Methods: Materials and methods: Intravascular images of the ostia of the right (48%) and left (52%) coronary arteries with the minimum diameter, maximum diameter, mean diameter and lumen area were analyzed. An intravascular ultrasound procedure was performed before percutaneous intervention.
Objective: The aim: To find out whether diaphragm dysfunction might lead to unsuccessful weaning from MV.
Patients And Methods: Materials and methods: We provided prospective observational cohort study and included 105 patients and divided them in the study and the control groups. To consider diaphragm function, we check amplitude of its movement and diaphragm thickening fraction (Dtf).

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic still has tremendous impacts on the global socio-economy and quality of living. The traditional Chinese Medicines (TCM) approach showed encouraging results during previous outbreaks of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome-related Coronavirus (SARS-CoV) and the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus (MERS-CoV). With limited treatment availability, TCM herbs and formulations could be useful to reduce COVID-19 symptoms and potential sources for discovering novel therapeutic targets.

Objective: The aim: To improve primary prophylactic measures associated with the development and progression of recurrent bronchial obstruction syndrome in young children, who had suffered respiratory disorders in neonatal period.
Patients And Methods: Materials and methods: Algorithm of primary prophylactic measures implied adequate balanced nutrition, sanation of living conditions, restriction of contact with infectious agents, sanation of chronic foci of infection, systematic training and general fitness. The patients with liver cirrhosis (LC) have autonomic nervous system (ANS) imbalance that can be evaluated by the heart rate variability (HRV) study. ANS imbalance results into cirrhotic cardiomyopathy (CCMP) and the most easily diagnosed feature of CCMP is the prolonged QT interval. The work describes a case of rare neonatal systemic juvenile xanthogranuloma with an initial damage of the scalp, limbs, back and abdomen, multiple damages of the parenchyma of both lungs, spleen and liver with the development of a severe form of congenital cholestatic hepatitis. The diagnosis was established on the basis of histopathological and immunohistochemical examination of the skin nodules. The child on the background of therapy under the Langerhans cell histiocytosis III program achieved a partial response, which was manifested by a reduction of granulomatous formations on the skin, elimination of liver failure, but retained hepatosplenomegaly, specific lesions of the lung parenchyma, liver, and left kidney.
