Bladder cancer (BC) diagnosis presents a critical challenge in biomedical research, necessitating accurate tumor classification from diverse datasets for effective treatment planning. This paper introduces a novel wrapper feature selection (FS) method that leverages a hybrid optimization algorithm combining Orthogonal Learning (OL) with a rime optimization algorithm (RIME), termed mRIME. The mRIME algorithm is designed to avoid local optima, streamline the search process, and select the most relevant features without compromising classifier performance.

The prevalence of Metabolic-associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) has been steadily increasing worldwide, paralleling the global epidemic of obesity and diabetes. It is estimated that approximately one-quarter of the global population is affected by MAFLD. Despite its high prevalence, MAFLD often goes undiagnosed due to the lack of specific symptoms in its early stages.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most frequent cancer worldwide and the second major cause of cancer-related death. Thus, we attempted to ascertain the relationship between the genotype and allele frequencies of phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN) and immunohistochemical PTEN expression with clinicopathological characteristics in patients with CRC. 150 individuals were allocated into two groups for this cross-sectional randomized case-control study: Group I consisted of 100 patients with histopathologically proven CRC of various stages.

The identification of tumors through gene analysis in microarray data is a pivotal area of research in artificial intelligence and bioinformatics. This task is challenging due to the large number of genes relative to the limited number of observations, making feature selection a critical step. This paper introduces a novel wrapper feature selection method that leverages a hybrid optimization algorithm combining a genetic operator with a Sinh Cosh Optimizer (SCHO), termed SCHO-GO.

Herein, a novel electrochemical sensor that was used for the first time for sensitive and selective detection of dopamine (DA) was fabricated. The new sensor is based on the decoration of the glassy carbon electrode surface (GC) with a polymer film of 1,3-Benzothiazol-2-yl((4-carboxlicphenyl)hydrazono)) acetonitrile (poly(BTCA). The prepared (poly(BTCA) was examined by using different techniques such as H NMR, C NMR, FTIR, and UV-visible spectroscopy.

Sulfamethazine (SMZ), a persistent antibiotic, is frequently detected in drinking water and milk. For this reason, our research aimed to develop a novel electrochemical sensor based on a magnetic nanocomposite supported on chitosan modified by 3-acetylindole through the formation of chitosan acetylindole Schiff base (Chs-Aci). The objective was to detect extremely low concentrations of SMZ in milk.

Background: Phakic intraocular lenses (pIOLs) have proven to be excellent substitutes for excimer laser keratorefractive surgery in certain situations. We aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of two pIOLs, the implantable collamer lens (ICL V4c) versus the implantable phakic contact lens (IPCL V2), for myopic correction.
Methods: In this prospective randomized clinical trial, we allocated eligible eyes with myopia > - 6 diopters into IPCL or ICL implantation groups, each including 100 eyes of 100 individuals.

Purpose: This study aimed to compare the efficacy of using a combination of antibiotic and corticosteroid eye drops to using the same combination in addition to sodium hyaluronate eye drops.
Patients And Methods: This study included patients who underwent phacoemulsification for age-related cataract and presented to the ophthalmology department or outpatient clinic of the two hospitals in the study with DED during the period from January 2020 to January 2023. The study involved a two-pronged approach in which we retrospectively analyzed the prospectively maintained data of the patients and prospectively called the patients for an evaluation of the dry eye impact on vision-related function.

In the field of audiology, achieving accurate discrimination of auditory impairments remains a formidable challenge. Conditions such as deafness and tinnitus exert a substantial impact on patients' overall quality of life, emphasizing the urgent need for precise and efficient classification methods. This study introduces an innovative approach, utilizing Multi-View Brain Network data acquired from three distinct cohorts: 51 deaf patients, 54 with tinnitus, and 42 normal controls.

Deudorix livia (Klug, 1834) (Lepidoptera: Lycaenidae) is one of the most serious lepidopteran insect pests attacking pomegranate fruit around the world, including Egypt (Assiut Governorate, Upper Egypt). To create an effective program (IPM) to control such harmful pests, accurate identification of the pest morphology and genetic structure is essential. Studies on the morphogenetics of this pest are scarce.

There is a lack of epidemiological data on fascioliasis in Egypt regarding disease characteristics and treatment outcomes across different governorates. We aimed to identify the demographic, epidemiologic, clinical, laboratory, and radiological characteristics and treatment outcomes of patients diagnosed with fascioliasis in Egypt. Data on human fascioliasis were collected retrospectively from patients' medical records in the period between January 2018 and January 2020.

Continuous release of image databases with fully or partially identical inner categories dramatically deteriorates the production of autonomous Computer-Aided Diagnostics (CAD) systems for true comprehensive medical diagnostics. The first challenge is the frequent massive bulk release of medical image databases, which often suffer from two common drawbacks: image duplication and corruption. The many subsequent releases of the same data with the same classes or categories come with no clear evidence of success in the concatenation of those identical classes among image databases.

With the increase in nanoparticles (NPs) products on the market, the possibility of animal and human exposure to these materials will increase. The smaller size of NPs facilitates their entrance through placental barriers and allows them to accumulate in embryonic tissue, where they can then be a source of different developmental malformations. Several toxicity studies with chemically synthesized titanium dioxide NPs (CTiO NPs) have been recently carried out; although there is insufficient data on exposure to biosynthesized titanium dioxide NPs (BTiO NPs) during pregnancy, the study aimed to evaluate the ability of an eco-friendly biosynthesis technique using garlic extract against maternal and fetal genotoxicities, which could result from repeated exposure to TiO NPs during gestation days (GD) 6-19.

Early diagnosis and classification of arrhythmia from an electrocardiogram (ECG) plays a significant role in smart healthcare systems for the health monitoring of individuals with cardiovascular diseases. Unfortunately, the nonlinearity and low amplitude of ECG recordings make the classification process difficult. Thus, the performance of most traditional machine learning (ML) classifiers is questionable, as the interrelationship between the learning parameters is not well modeled, especially for data features with high dimensions.
