In recent years, multifunctional cell regulation on a single chip has become an imperative need for cell research. In this study, a novel multi-functional micro-platform integrating wireless electrical stimulation, mechanical stimulation and electrical response recording of cells was proposed. Controlling cell fate by photoexcited radio stimulation of cells on photosensitive films can precisely orchestrate biological activities.

Background And Objectives: Disorders of coenzyme Q (CoQ) biosynthesis comprise a group of 11 clinically and genetically heterogeneous rare primary mitochondrial diseases. We sought to delineate clinical, biochemical, and neuroimaging features of these disorders, together with outcomes after oral CoQ supplementation and the utility of peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMNC) CoQ levels in monitoring therapy.
Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study, registered as an audit at a specialist pediatric hospital (Registration Number: 3318) of 14 patients with genetically confirmed CoQ biosynthesis deficiency, including 13 previously unreported cases.

Although India's organ donation rate is less than 1 per million population, significant disparities exist between the regions and centres within the country, leading to varying consent rates among different organ donation centres. Therefore, this study aimed to understand the experience of transplant coordinators and their barriers and facilitators in the deceased organ donation process across various organ donation centres in India. A phenomenological study using interviews was conducted among fourteen transplant coordinators purposefully recruited from public and private organ donation centres in India, with experience between six years and more than a decade.

Anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDA-R) encephalitis is an immune-mediated encephalitis that primarily affects young women. Due to the psychiatric and neurological symptoms, the diagnosis can be challenging, especially during pregnancy. During pregnancy, treatments must take into account the fetal and neonatal risk and the risk of premature delivery.

Background: Physical inactivity is an ongoing problem throughout the lifespan. For older people, inactivity has a negative impact on wellbeing, which worsened during the COVID-19 pandemic. Digital technologies can be employed to encourage uptake of social and physical activity through remotely delivered interventions to improve wellbeing, however, we need to understand older people's perceptions and experiences of using digital technologies before implementing these interventions.

Objective: The objective of this study was to report the 12-month oncological outcomes for patients with non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer (NMIBC) within the prospective, international COVIDSurg Cancer study.
Patients And Methods: Eligible patients were aged ≥18 years and scheduled for elective surgical management of NMIBC with curative intent (transurethral resection of bladder tumour [TURBT] or bladder biopsy) from 21 January to 14 April 2020. The primary outcome was disease recurrence within 12 months of previous elective TURBT/bladder biopsy.

Objectives: Aromatase inhibitor induced bone loss (AIBL) is a recognised adverse event with resultant increase in fracture risk. We aimed to determine the real-world impact of the 2017 consensus guidelines on AIBL and see if it is effective in fracture prevention.
Methods: Over a 7-year study period, 1001 women prescribed AI were split in two groups.

The management of a food supply chain is difficult and complex because of the product's short shelf-life, time-sensitivity, and perishable nature which must be carefully considered to minimize food waste. Temperature-controlled perishable food supply chain provides the highly crucial facilities necessary to maintain the quality and safety of the product. The storage temperature is the most vital factor in maintaining both the quality and shelf-life of a perishable food.

Nursing students in undergraduate programmes exhibit comparable, sometimes higher, levels of poor mental health and substance use compared to the general population; however, this area remains under-researched in New Zealand. The study involved 172 nursing students enrolled in the Bachelor of Nursing programme at one tertiary institution in Auckland, New Zealand. Employing a mixed-methodology approach, a 29-question survey comprising both open and closed questions was administered to explore the students' experiences with mental health and substance use, as well as their access to support services.

During the offline combination of multiple atomic force microscopy (AFM) images, changes in probe displacement can be affected by dynamic noise, leading to dislocation and tearing in the stitching. To overcome this, we designed a homography matrix optimization method to describe the relative positional relationship between images by constructing the original image matrix and applying singular value decomposition to denoise the homography matrix. Additionally, we implemented a scale-invariant feature transform (SIFT) to extract feature points.

The diaphragm is the primary muscle of respiration. Here, we disclose a fascinating patient's perspective that led, by clinical reasoning alone, to a novel mechanism of spontaneous respiratory arrests termed diaphragm cramp-contracture (DCC). Although the 7-year-old boy survived its paroxysmal nocturnal "bearhug pain apnea" episodes, essentially by breathing out to breathe in, DCC could cause sudden unexpected deaths in children, especially infants.

Introduction Single Best Answer questions are an established assessment format in medical education, however, their use as a teaching tool is underexplored in the literature. We aimed to assess the effectiveness and impact of implementing Single Best Answer (SBA) questions into lecture teaching, compared to standard lectures. Methods This evaluation utilised a mixed-method retrospective approach, combining quantitative and qualitative analysis of routine teaching feedback.
