Feeling valued at work: a qualitative exploration of allied health profession support workers.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to explore Allied Health Professions (AHP) support worker perceptions of feeling valued and to understand what factors contribute to this feeling of "value".

Design: This was a qualitative study with semi-structured interviews undertaken virtually. The data were analysed using a process of thematic analysis in order to gain an in depth understanding of the factors that affect support workers feeling "valued".

Background And Objectives: Disorders of coenzyme Q (CoQ) biosynthesis comprise a group of 11 clinically and genetically heterogeneous rare primary mitochondrial diseases. We sought to delineate clinical, biochemical, and neuroimaging features of these disorders, together with outcomes after oral CoQ supplementation and the utility of peripheral blood mononuclear cell (PBMNC) CoQ levels in monitoring therapy.

Methods: This was a retrospective cohort study, registered as an audit at a specialist pediatric hospital (Registration Number: 3318) of 14 patients with genetically confirmed CoQ biosynthesis deficiency, including 13 previously unreported cases.

A qualitative study exploring barriers and facilitators in deceased organ donation process among transplant coordinators in India.

Although India's organ donation rate is less than 1 per million population, significant disparities exist between the regions and centres within the country, leading to varying consent rates among different organ donation centres. Therefore, this study aimed to understand the experience of transplant coordinators and their barriers and facilitators in the deceased organ donation process across various organ donation centres in India. A phenomenological study using interviews was conducted among fourteen transplant coordinators purposefully recruited from public and private organ donation centres in India, with experience between six years and more than a decade.

Anti N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor encephalitis during pregnancy: A case report.

Anti-N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDA-R) encephalitis is an immune-mediated encephalitis that primarily affects young women. Due to the psychiatric and neurological symptoms, the diagnosis can be challenging, especially during pregnancy. During pregnancy, treatments must take into account the fetal and neonatal risk and the risk of premature delivery.

Exploring the perceptions and experiences of older people on the use of digital technologies during the COVID-19 pandemic: a qualitative study.

Background: Physical inactivity is an ongoing problem throughout the lifespan. For older people, inactivity has a negative impact on wellbeing, which worsened during the COVID-19 pandemic. Digital technologies can be employed to encourage uptake of social and physical activity through remotely delivered interventions to improve wellbeing, however, we need to understand older people's perceptions and experiences of using digital technologies before implementing these interventions.

Patients And Methods: Eligible patients were aged ≥18 years and scheduled for elective surgical management of NMIBC with curative intent (transurethral resection of bladder tumour [TURBT] or bladder biopsy) from 21 January to 14 April 2020. The primary outcome was disease recurrence within 12 months of previous elective TURBT/bladder biopsy.

Mental Health Experiences Among Undergraduate Nursing Students in a New Zealand Tertiary Institution: A Time for Change.

Nursing students in undergraduate programmes exhibit comparable, sometimes higher, levels of poor mental health and substance use compared to the general population; however, this area remains under-researched in New Zealand. The study involved 172 nursing students enrolled in the Bachelor of Nursing programme at one tertiary institution in Auckland, New Zealand. Employing a mixed-methodology approach, a 29-question survey comprising both open and closed questions was administered to explore the students' experiences with mental health and substance use, as well as their access to support services.

Atomic force microscopy wide-field scanning imaging using homography matrix optimization.

During the offline combination of multiple atomic force microscopy (AFM) images, changes in probe displacement can be affected by dynamic noise, leading to dislocation and tearing in the stitching. To overcome this, we designed a homography matrix optimization method to describe the relative positional relationship between images by constructing the original image matrix and applying singular value decomposition to denoise the homography matrix. Additionally, we implemented a scale-invariant feature transform (SIFT) to extract feature points.
