Skin aging is a complex biological process induced by intrinsic and extrinsic factors which is characterized by clinical and cellular changes, especially dermal fibroblasts. It is possible that, some procedures, such as low-level laser therapy (LLLT), could decelerate this process. To test this hypothesis, this study evaluated the in vitro LLLT on dermal fibroblast cell line (HFF-1) with premature senescence HO-induced.

Background: Olanzapine (OLZ) is a second-generation antipsychotic drug used for treatment of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and other neuropsychiatric conditions. Undesirable side effects of OLZ include metabolic alterations associated with chronic oxidative-inflammation events. It is possible that lithium (Li), a mood modulator that exhibits anti-inflammatory properties may attenuate OLZ-induced oxi-inflammatory effects.

Ziprasidone (ZIP) is an effective antipsychotic with low side effects than other second-generation antipsychotics. Despite this, there are reports of adverse events and previous studies associating the use of ZIP the inflammatory response. It is possible to infer that bioactive molecules present in some foods could attenuate peripheral inflammatory and oxidative stress potentially triggered ZIP.

Acid Black 10B (AB10B) is widely used for the production of textiles, leather and prints. It is a representative of azo dyes and it is well documented that some of these compounds are mutagenic per se, and that cleavage products (in particular aromatic amines) may cause damage of the genetic material and cancer. Since no toxicological data on AB10B have been published, we evaluated its mutagenic activity in Salmonella/microsome assays and studied its acute toxic and genotoxic properties in a human derived liver cell line (HepG2) which retained the activities of drug metabolizing enzymes.

This work presents a study of the traction, normal and stall forces in a two-sided planar actuator with orthogonal planar windings and a mover that comprises two cars magnetically coupled to each other through two pairs of permanent magnets (PMs). There is no ferromagnetic armature core because of the permanent magnets array in the mover and orthogonal traction forces can be generated in order to move both cars jointly in any direction on a plane. The stall force is the minimal force necessary to break up the magnetic coupling between the two cars.

Uric acid presents different roles in an organism, since it can act as an antioxidant or a pro-oxidant molecule. High serum uric acid levels may cause damage to several structures, including nucleic acids and its components. Therefore, in this study the association between increased serum uric acid concentrations and oxidation of nucleosides was investigated by assessment of urinary 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) and in healthy individuals.
