An updated review of PubMed literature using the following keywords was performed: "stress urinary incontinence", "women", "midurethral slings", "bulking agents", "pubovaginal slings", "retropubic suspension", "postoperative complications", and "treatment outcome". More recent publications, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses were given preference.
