To investigate the regulatory mechanisms and pathways of visfatin under immune stress injury in weaned piglets, we established a lipopolysaccharide-induced immune stress model in weaned piglets to study how visfatin affects peripheral immune organs and intestinal function. The results revealed that visfatin improved the inflammatory response in immune-stressed weaned piglets by reducing the levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines interleukin-1β, interleukin-6 and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1, as well as decreasing the neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio. Visfatin ameliorated oxidative stress in piglets by promoting the expression of superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase.

Head-to-vehicle contact boundary condition and criteria and corresponding thresholds of head injuries are crucial in evaluation of vehicle safety performance for pedestrian protection, which need a constantly updated understanding of pedestrian head kinematic response and injury risk in real-world collisions. Thus, the purpose of the current study is to investigate the characteristics of pedestrian head-to-vehicle contact boundary condition and pedestrian AIS3+ (Abbreviated Injury Scale) head injury risk as functions of kinematic-based criteria, including HIC (Head Injury Criterion), HIP (Head Impact Power), GAMBIT (Generalized Acceleration Model for Brain Injury Threshold), RIC (Rotational Injury Criterion), and BrIC (Brain Injury Criteria), in real-world collisions. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the capability of a detailed FE human body lower limb mode, called HALL (Human Active Lower Limb) model, in predicting real world pedestrian injuries and to investigate injury mechanism of pedestrian lower limb in vehicle collisions.

Urban park green space is an important physical part of urban ecosystem, and also, the important habitat and carrier for birds and other animals. Rapid urbanization induces the great change in the spatial pattern of urban park green space, while the patched distribution of urban park green space has the habitat features similar to 'habitat islands', giving obvious effects on urban avian communities. In order to understand the bird species distribution and species diversity in Loudi City and to provide the basic information for the bird conservation, a line transect method and a quadrat sampling method were adopted to investigate the distribution pattern and species richness of the birds across seven urban parks in the Loudi City from November, 2010 to January, 2012.
