Introduction: Stroke is a significant worldwide cause of death and a prevalent contributor to long-term disability among adults. Survivors commonly encounter a wide array of motor, sensory and cognitive impairments. Rehabilitation interventions, mainly targeting the upper extremities, include a wide array of components, although the evidence indicates that the intensity of practice and task-specific training play crucial roles in facilitating effective results.

The overt or covert ability to follow commands in patients with disorders of consciousness is considered a sign of awareness and has recently been defined as cortically mediated behaviour. Despite its clinical relevance, the brain signatures of the perceptual processing supporting command following have been elusive. This multimodal study investigates the temporal spectral pattern of electrical brain activity to identify features that differentiated healthy controls from patients both able and unable to follow commands.

Objective: To test the effect of combined intermittent hypoxia (IH) and body weight-supported treadmill training (BWSTT) on standing and dynamic balance in persons with incomplete spinal cord injury (iSCI).
Design: Randomized, triple-blind, placebo-controlled study.
Setting: Rehabilitation medical centers.
