A staged integrated model informing the promotion of healthy dietary behaviors in adolescents: a prospective study.

Background: The promotion of healthy dietary behaviors in adolescence is critical, which have long-term implications for lifelong health. Integration is an important method for improving limited theories of dietary behavior change. The present study proposes an integrated model aimed at identifying the diverse determinants of healthy dietary behaviors in adolescents and assesses its stage-specific nature as the potential for effective interventions.

Pulmonary thromboembolism due to Mycoplasma pneumoniae in children: a case report and literature review.

Background: Mycoplasma pneumoniae (MP) is a common respiratory pathogen in children that can sometimes lead to extrapulmonary manifestations. Among these, pediatric pulmonary thromboembolism (PE) is clinically rare but carries significant implications. However, it is often underrecognized, and its diagnosis and treatment are not well understood.

Predicting radiation pneumonitis in lung cancer using machine learning and multimodal features: a systematic review and meta-analysis of diagnostic accuracy.

Objectives: To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of machine learning models incorporating multimodal features for predicting radiation pneumonitis in lung cancer through a systematic review and meta-analysis.

Methods: Relevant studies were identified through a systematic search of PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, and the Cochrane Library from October 2003 to December 2023. Additional studies were located by reviewing bibliographies and relevant websites.

Primary breast angiosarcoma: A case report.

Rationale: Primary breast angiosarcoma is a rare tumor, accounting for only 0.05% of all malignant breast tumors. The primary breast angiosarcoma typically presents with nonspecific clinical manifestations, which can easily lead to misdiagnosis.

Value of foetal umbilical vein standardised blood flow volume in predicting weight gain in the third trimester: a prospective case-cohort study.

Objective: This study aims to establish a prediction model of foetal umbilical vein standardised blood flow volume (sQuv) on estimated foetal weight (EFW) in the third trimester.

Methods: A case-cohort study involving 200 eligible normal foetuses was conducted at the Ultrasound Department of Longquanyi District of Maternity and Child Healthcare Hospital between June 1, 2020 and December 31, 2021. Ultrasound measurements were taken at two separate intervals to assess EFW and the rate of EFW (rEFW) [first: between 28 w and 33 w6d of gestational age (GA); second: after 4-6 weeks].

Nanoparticles that target the mitochondria of tumor cells to restore oxygen supply for photodynamic therapy: Design and preclinical validation against breast cancer.

Photodynamic therapy, in which photosensitizers locally generate cytotoxic reactive oxygen species, can treat tumor tissue with minimal effects on surrounding normal tissue, but it can be ineffective because of the anoxic tumor microenvironment. Here we developed a strategy to inactivate the mitochondria of tumor cells in order to ensure adequate local oxygen concentrations for photodynamic therapy. We conjugated the photosensitizer 5-aminolevulinic acid to the lipophilic cation triphenylphosphine, which targets mitochondria.

[Effects of different puncture levels in bilateral percutaneous vertebroplasty on distribution of bone cement and effectiveness of osteoporotic thoracolumbar compression fractures].

Objective: To investigate the effects of different puncture levels on bone cement distribution and effectiveness in bilateral percutaneous vertebroplasty for osteoporotic thoracolumbar compression fractures.

Methods: A clinical data of 274 patients with osteoporotic thoracolumbar compression fractures who met the selection criteria between December 2017 and December 2020 was retrospectively analyzed. All patients underwent bilateral percutaneous vertebroplasty.

Teratoma of the Tongue in a Fetus: A Case Report and Review of the Literature.

Teratomas are tumors composed of multiple embryonic germ layers of tissue, and those occurring in the tongue of the fetus are extremely rare. This paper reports the case of a 20-week-old fetus diagnosed with oral masses combined with a cleft lip and palate using prenatal ultrasonography. The patient decided to terminate the pregnancy due to economic factors after prenatal genetic consultation.

Case report: Cardiac metastatic leiomyoma in an Asian female.

Background: Uterine leiomyomas are the most common gynecological tumors in women of child-bearing age and premenopausal women, while benign metastasizing leiomyomas of the heart are rare.

Case Presentation: We report a rare case of metastasizing leiomyoma in the heart of a 54-year-old woman 10 years after a uterine leiomyoma was discovered during hysterectomy. Echocardiography, cardiac plain scan and enhanced MRI at presentation showed a soft tissue signal mass in the right ventricle.

Dietary Protein Intake, Meat Consumption, and Dairy Consumption in the Year Preceding Pregnancy and During Pregnancy and Their Associations With the Risk of Gestational Diabetes Mellitus: A Prospective Cohort Study in Southwest China.

Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) has become a public health problem in China. To examine the association of dietary protein intake before and during pregnancy with the risk of GDM. Dietary intake before pregnancy and during the first and second trimesters of pregnancy was assessed using food frequency questionnaires in a prospective cohort of pregnant women.

Association between interleukin family gene polymorphisms and recurrent aphthous stomatitis risk.

The present study was aimed at identifying the association between interleukin family gene polymorphisms and recurrent aphthous stomatitis (RAS) risk using a meta-analysis. We searched the PubMed, web of science, Embase and ScienceDirect-Elsevier databases for research on the interleukin polymorphism and RAS risk. In total 12 studies were included to investigate the relationships between RAS risk and six polymorphisms by calculating pooled odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs).
