Magnesium is an essential nutrient for various physiological processes and becomes even more vital during pregnancy, contributing to muscle relaxation, bone development, electrolyte balance, and blood pressure regulation. Despite the fact that the dietary sources of magnesium are diversified, it is still challenging to obtain it in sufficient quantities during pregnancy. We have elucidated its interactions and its specific impact on maternal-fetal health in different research publications.

Here we explored new 1,5-disubstituted pyrrolidin-2-ones 1, 2 and 5-aryl-3,3,4,5-tetrahydropyrrolo[1,2-]quinoline-1(2)-ones 3 as inhibitors of tubulin polymerization. We evaluated their effects on microtubule dynamics and on the proliferation of A549 cells, using flow cytometry-based cell cycle analysis. The results were verified with phase-contrast microscopy in three cancer cell lines: A549, HeLa and MCF-7.

The subgenus belongs to the genus (Central Asian mountain vole) and consists of two species: and Phylogenetic relationships within the subgenus remain obscure due to limited sampling, an insufficient number of molecular markers used in phylogenetic studies, and paraphyly observed on mitochondrial trees. In this work, to infer reliable phylogenetic relationships and evaluate putative scenarios of ancient hybridization within the subgenus, we applied double-digest restriction site-associated DNA paired-end (quaddRAD) sequencing to 20 DNA samples (20 individuals), including five species of the genus , and dated the divergence of cytochrome b () lineages within using a "second calibration" approach. We showed monophyly of the two species on the basis of thousands of nuclear loci and demonstrated traces of introgression also in the nuclear genome.

, a little-known Sino-Himalayan species, was collected in North Vietnam and its taxonomic position was identified by molecular genetic techniques. The species is characterized by generally narrowly pointed leaves, which are not seen in other representatives of Lophocoleaceae. We found that it belongs to the recently described genus , although it is clearly morphologically dissimilar to other members of the genus.

Two new species of Chappuis, 1929 from the Russian Arctic from the species group are described: and A complete morphological comparison of the new species with the type species (Claus, 1863) was carried out. Significant interspecific differences were shown at the level of microcharacters, such as integumental sensillae and pores, ornamentation of segments of mouthparts and swimming legs, and pores on swimming legs. A significant correlation has also been shown in the shape of the caudal rami of the females and the antennules of the males, which is likely caused by an evolutionary sexual arms race.

A nanoarchitectural approach to the design of functional nanomaterials based on natural aluminosilicate nanotubes and their catalysis, and practical applications are described in this paper. We focused on the buildup of hybrid core-shell systems with metallic or organic molecules encased in aluminosilicate walls, and nanotube templates for structured silica and zeolite preparation. The basis for such an architectural design is a unique AlO/SiO dual chemistry of 50 nm diameter halloysite tubes.
