Background: The efficacy of current adjuvant chemotherapy for gastric adenocarcinoma/gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma (GA/GEJA) leaves much to be desired. ctDNA could serve as a potential marker to identify patients who are at higher risk of recurrence. Reinforcing standard adjuvant chemotherapy with immunotherapy has already been indicated to significantly improve clinical outcome, albeit such evidence is rare in GA/GEJA.

Background: Febrile seizures are a common neurologic manifestation in children with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Compared to seasonal respiratory viruses, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has a pronounced neurological impact, with the result that febrile seizures with COVID-19 may exhibit unique clinical features.
Materials And Methods: We conducted a retrospective study in a tertiary care hospital in China.

Male breast cancer (MBC) is a rare but aggressive malignancy with cellular and immunological characteristics that remain unclear. Here, we perform transcriptomic analysis for 111,038 single cells from tumor tissues of six MBC and thirteen female breast cancer (FBC) patients. We find that that MBC has significantly lower infiltration of T cells relative to FBC.

Multiple myeloma (MM) is a clonal disease of plasma cells that remains, for the most part, incurable despite the advent of several novel therapeutics. The elevated expression of p27 and its association with cell-cycle arrest is speculated to be one of the major mechanisms by which MM cells escape the cytotoxic effects of therapeutic agents. In this study, we demonstrated that RBX1 silencing could inhibit MM cell growth and promote cell drug resistance.

Recently, several studies have indicated the great potential of gene expression signature of the primary tumor in predicting lymph node metastasis; however, few current gene biomarkers can predict lymph node status and prognosis in gastric cancer (GC). Thus, we used the RNA-seq data from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) to identify differentially expressed genes between pathological lymph node-negative (pN0) and positive (pN+) patients and to establish a gene signature that could predict lymph node metastasis. Meanwhile, the robustness of identified gene signatures was validated in an independent dataset Asian Cancer Research Group (n = 300).

Brain Type Glycogen Phosphorylase (PYGB) has been revealed to participate in the progression of multiple human cancers. Nevertheless, the clinical significance and biological function of PYGB in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PAAD) remains unclarified. This study first analyzed the expression pattern, diagnostic value, and prognostic significance of PYGB in PAAD using the TCGA database.

Background & Aims: Immunotherapy is an option for the treatment of advanced biliary tract cancer (BTC), although it has a low response rate. In this post hoc analysis, we investigated the predictive value of an immuno-genomic-radiomics (IGR) analysis for patients with BTC treated with camrelizumab plus gemcitabine and oxaliplatin (GEMOX) therapy.
Methods: Thirty-two patients with BTC treated with camrelizumab plus GEMOX were prospectively enrolled.

Background: Recent studies suggest that classical coronary risk factors play a significant role in the pathogenesis of coronary artery disease. Our study aims to explore the interaction of circRNA with classical coronary risk factors in coronary atherosclerotic disease.
Method: Combined analysis of RNA sequencing results from coronary segments and peripheral blood mononuclear cells of patients with coronary atherosclerotic disease was employed to identify critical circRNAs.

The mechanisms regulating cuproptosis in severe influenza are still unknown. We aimed to identify the molecular subtypes of cuproptosis and immunological characteristics associated with severe influenza in patients requiring invasive mechanical ventilation (IMV). The expression of cuproptosis modulatory factors and immunological characteristics of these patients were analyzed using the public datasets (GSE101702, GSE21802, and GSE111368) from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO).

The modification of N6-methyladenosine (m6A) modification is implicated in human diseases. However, considerable uncertainty is associated with the regulatory mechanisms of m6A circRNAs in coronary artery disease (CAD), which require further clarification. In this study, m6A-modified RNA immunoprecipitation sequencing (MeRIP-seq) was conducted to investigate m6A-modified circRNAs in human coronary artery smooth muscle cells (HCASMCs) and to identify potential biomarkers for CAD.

Ferroptotic cell death is a regulated process that is governed by iron-dependent membrane lipid peroxide accumulation that plays a pathogenic role in several disease-related settings. The use of ferroptosis-related genes (FRGs) to distinguish active tuberculosis (ATB) from latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) among children, however, remains to be analysed. Tuberculosis-related gene expression data and FRG lists were obtained, respectively, from Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) and FerrDb.

Colorectal cancer is one of the malignant tumors with the highest mortality due to the lack of obvious early symptoms. It is usually in the advanced stage when it is discovered. Thus the automatic and accurate classification of early colon lesions is of great significance for clinically estimating the status of colon lesions and formulating appropriate diagnostic programs.

Lymph node metastasis, a crucial factor in the spread of gastric cancer (GC), is strongly associated with a negative prognosis for patients. This study aimed to investigate the association of the mesothelin (MSLN) gene polymorphisms (rs3764247, rs3764246, rs12597489, rs1057147, and rs3765319) with the risk of lymph node metastasis of GC patients in a Chinese Han population. The PCR-LDR genotyping was used to detect the genotypes of MSLN polymorphisms in GC patients with lymph node metastasis (n = 610) or without (n = 356).

Kaempferol (KA), a widely recognized anti-oxidation and anti-inflammation agent, has been reported to have neuroprotective effects. This work aimed to investigate whether KA protects mouse dorsal root ganglia (DRG) neurons against bupivacaine (BU)-stimulated neurotoxicity and explore the underlying mechanisms. In this study, BU treatment suppressed DRG neuron viability and promoted LDH leakage, which was partially abated by KA.

Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) represented by gefitinib and erlotinib are widely used in treating non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, acquired resistance to EGFR-TKI treatment remains a clinical challenge. In recent years, emerging research investigated in EGFR-TKI-based combination therapy regimens, and remarkable achievements have been reported.

Method: As study subjects, the human breast cancer cell line MCF-7 and the normal breast cell line Hs 578Bst were chosen, and MCF-7 cells were, respectively, transfected with control miRNA and miR-107 inhibitor. CCK-8, flow cytometry, scratch assay, and Transwell assay were used to analyze the proliferation, apoptosis, and invasion, and in order to identify the proteins associated with apoptosis in each of the three categories, we used western blot analysis.

Background: Great progress has been made in studying the function of long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) in various tumors, including gastric cancer (GC). However, there are still numerous lncRNAs that have not yet been studied and explored for their roles in GC, and their important functions need to be further revealed.
Methods: Through analyzing The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database combined with bioinformatics survival tools, a novel GC-related lncRNA LGALS8-AS1 was identified.

Although tumor size is regarded as the "T" stage of the tumor-node-metastasis (TNM) staging system for many solid tumors, its prognostic impact in gastric cancer remains uncertain and conflicting. We enrolled 6960 eligible patients from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database. The X-tile program was used to select the best cut-off value of tumor size.
