Gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) have emerged as promising candidates for cancer therapy due to their unique physicochemical properties and biocompatibility. In this study, we investigate the synthesis, characterization, and therapeutic potential of AuNPs in breast cancer treatment. Further, it establishes a comprehensive understanding of the mechanisms by which AuNPs suppress angiogenesis and breast cancer growth, identifying novel targets and signaling nodes contributing to the anti-tumor effects of AuNPs.

Pancreatic cancer is influenced by interactions between cancer cells and the tumor microenvironment (TME), including tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs). Specifically, CD8 + T cells impact prognosis by eliminating cancer cells. Recent studies have revealed that microbiomes are present in pancreatic tissues and may affect tumor growth and immune responses.

Background & Aims: Various hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) prediction models have been proposed for patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) using clinical variables. We aimed to develop an artificial intelligence (AI)-based HCC prediction model by incorporating imaging biomarkers derived from abdominal computed tomography (CT) images along with clinical variables.
Methods: An AI prediction model employing a gradient-boosting machine algorithm was developed utilizing imaging biomarkers extracted by DeepFore, a deep learning-based CT auto-segmentation software.

Background: Oxaliplatin is a commonly used platinum-based chemotherapy drug for patients with pancreatic cancer (PC). Drug resistance is a major challenge in PC treatment, underscoring the urgent need for new approaches. Targeting DNA damage repair, one of the factors responsible for platinum resistance, is an attractive strategy to overcome drug resistance.

Background: Oral sulfate tablets (OSTs) are bowel preparation agents that combine oral sulfate solution and simethicone. This study compared the efficacy, tolerability, and safety of OST compared to 2 L-polyethylene glycol plus ascorbic acid (2 L-PEG/ASC).
Methods: This prospective, randomized, controlled, single-blinded, multicenter, noninferiority trial enrolled 211 healthy adults who underwent colonoscopy between May 2020 and September 2022 at 13 university hospitals.

The association between pancreatic exocrine insufficiency (PEI) and morphologic findings in chronic pancreatitis has not yet been fully studied. Thus, the aim of this study was to investigate the correlation between PEI severity and computed tomography (CT)-based morphological severity in patients with chronic pancreatitis. This nationwide survey included 180 Korean participants with chronic pancreatitis aged 18 years or older between January 2018 and December 2021.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the leading causes of cancer-related morbidity worldwide. Sorafenib is a first-line drug for the treatment of HCC, however, it is reported to cause serious adverse effects and may lead to resistance in many patients. In this study, 20 hydrazone derivatives incorporating triazoles, pyrazolone, pyrrole, pyrrolidine, imidazoline, quinazoline, and oxadiazine moieties were designed, synthesized, and characterized.

There is an urgent need for preventive and therapeutic drugs to effectively treat and prevent viral diseases from resurfacing as they emerge during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aims to assess the antiviral effects of four natural compounds commonly used in traditional medicine to treat SARS-CoV-2 infection. A cytotoxicity, dose-dependent, and plaque reduction assay was performed on Vero CCL-81 cells to figure out their effects on the cells.

Aims: The frequency of CTNNB1 mutation, one of the most frequent genetic events in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), is lower in Asian countries and in hepatitis B virus (HBV)-related HCCs. In this study, we evaluated the prevalence and types of CTNNB1-mutation in HBV-related HCC and correlated the molecular status with the histomorphological and immunohistochemical features.
Methods And Results: A total of 108 consecutive cases of treatment-naïve, surgically resected HBV-related HCCs were selected.

Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) is a form of chronic liver inflammation associated with metabolic syndrome, such as obesity and a major cause of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Multi-biotics, a soymilk fermented with lactic acid bacteria, are known to alleviate obesity by lowering lipid profile. This study aimed to establish and characterize mouse organoids derived from MASH-related HCC models to evaluate drug responses, particularly focusing on Lenvatinib resistance.
