Rare Rib-Originating Solitary Plasmacytoma: Retrospective Analysis and Surgical Outcomes.

Introduction: Solitary plasmacytomas are tumors characterized by a local increase of malignant plasma cells in soft tissue or bone and may occur anywhere without evidence of systemic disease. The aim was to focus on the main surgical techniques and outcomes for this rare chest wall tumor.

Methods: Patients with solitary plasmacytoma involving a rib, who were operated for diagnostic or treatment purposes between 2018 and 2023 were retrospectively reviewed.

Assessment of dyslipidemia management in Turkey using a Delphi panel.

This study evaluated the management of dyslipidemia in Turkey with the goal of understanding current diagnosis and treatment patterns, as well as identifying unmet needs in achieving effective low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) targets. Using a Delphi panel consisting of nine expert cardiologists, the study reveals key gaps in dyslipidemia management, particularly in the underutilization of combination therapies, such as statins and PCSK9 inhibitors, which are crucial for achieving LDL-C targets in high-risk patients. The findings indicate that while many patients with very high cardiovascular risk are diagnosed, a significant proportion do not receive optimal treatment to reach LDL-C levels recommended by European guidelines.

Objectives: Evaluation of the validity of the Quadruple-D score in the prediction of success in pediatric stone disease.

Materials And Methods: Of the 292 children treated with SWL between 2007 and 2023, a total of 158 children who had adequate follow-up data and evaluated with non-contrast computed tomography before SWL, were included in the study. In this study, we aimed to investigate the relationship between nail and scalp involvement and other covariates with psoriatic arthritis (PsA). This cross-sectional study, conducted from June 2021 through December 2021, included 763 patients from 11 different centers in Turkey.

They can impact cardiovascular health by multiple mechanisms not to mention their impact on cardiovascular care and services. Besides the humanitarian tragedy that calls attention globally, we as part of cardiovascular community are concerned with the short and long outcomes of those who survived the recent Turkey and Syria earthquake tragedy.

Treatment of pediatric femur supracondylar fractures: comparison of K-wire fixation versus plate-screw fixation.

This study aims to compare the clinical and radiological results of patients who underwent plate-screw fixation and K-wire fixation in supracondylar femur fractures in the pediatric population. Patients aged 5-14 years suffering from supracondylar femoral fractures who underwent K-wire and plate-screw fixation were included in the study. Of all patients, follow-up period, age, fracture union time, gender, leg length discrepancy, and Knee Society Score (KSS) data were analyzed.

A rare pinch-off case embolized to the pulmonary artery.

The pinch-off syndrome is defined as the embolization of the central catheter inserted via the subclavian approach due to the mechanical compression between the clavicle, the first rib, the subclavius muscle, and the costoclavicular ligament. Embolization to the pulmonary artery is an extremely rare condition. In this article, we present a rare case with ovarian cancer who had multiple metastases both locally and lungs, the port catheter was fractured into three parts, the proximal part was removed, the middle part was left between the subclavian vein and the skin, and the long distal part was embolized to the pulmonary artery.
