Collagens are ubiquitous biomaterials in animal tissues whose characteristic triple-helical structure can only be hydrolyzed under physiological conditions by a few specific proteases. At present, information on the differences of collagenase hydrolysis behavior to collagen substrate caused by extraction methods is still lacking. Acid-relaxed extracted collagen (ARC) and acetic acid-pepsin extracted collagen (APC) were obtained from bovine hide by acetic acid and acetic acid-pepsin extraction method, respectively.

With the increasing demand for building acoustic performance, accurately evaluating the acoustic performance of building walls has become an important research topic. However, existing research has mostly focused on general building materials such as concrete, iron and steel, and glass. For wooden structure wall, due to the sound absorption performance of the materials themselves and the complexity of structural design, the analysis of their acoustic performance is still relatively weak.

June 2024

Key Laboratory of Biotechnology and Bioresources Utilization, College of Life Sciences, Dalian Minzu University, Ministry of Education, Dalian 116600, China.

In this study, ultrafiltration fractions (<3 k Da, LMH; >3 k Da, HMH) and solid-phase extraction fractions (hydrophilic hydrolysate, HIH; hydrophobic hydrolysate, HOH) from trypsin hydrolysate purified from croceine croaker () isolate were obtained to investigate the cryoprotective effects of the different fractions, achieved by means of maceration of turbot fish meat after three freeze-thaw cycles. Alterations in the texture, color, moisture loss, myofibrillar protein oxidation stability and conformation, and microstructure of the fish were analyzed after freezing and thawing. The results demonstrate that HIH maximized the retention of fish texture, reduced moisture loss, minimized the oxidation and aggregation of myofibrillar proteins, and stabilized the secondary and tertiary structures of myofibrillar proteins compared to the control group.

Objective: The relationship between the non-high-density lipoprotein to high-density lipoprotein ratio (non-HDL-c/HDL-c ratio) and changes in glycemic status as well as the development of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) has been well established. However, there is a lack of evidence concerning the association between the non-HDL-c/HDL-c ratio and the reversal of normoglycemia in individuals with impaired fasting glucose (IFG). Therefore, this study aimed to examine the connection between the non-HDL-c/HDL-c ratio and the likelihood of reverting to normoglycemia among people with IFG.

Electronic address:

Rehydration of dried rice noodles (DRNs) is a time-consuming process, which is dominated by the compactness of noodle structure. Therefore, DRNs with differentiated porous structures were prepared, and their effect on the rehydration process was investigated. Porous structure can shorten rehydration time by reducing the time needed for water to migrate into the noodle core, or the water amount required for rehydration.

China's construction industry has assumed an important role in China's urbanization process, improving China's urban landscape and the level of national production and living facilities, but the productivity of the construction industry in some regions of China is still at a relatively low level. Taking the construction industry in Guangxi province in southwest China as an example, this paper analyzes the relevant indexes affecting the total factor productivity level of the regional construction industry and composes the statistical relationships among the indexes using dynamic measurement methods, and obtains that: (1) The number of employees, enterprises, labor productivity and construction profit have positive influence on the total factor productivity of Guangxi construction industry, but the improvement of regional construction gross product does not drive the improvement of technical equipment rate; (2) There is a dynamic equilibrium relationship between input and output indicators of total factor productivity of Guangxi construction industry, and the positive driving effect of output indicators on input indicators is not obvious; the influence of input indicators on output indicators is greater, and the positive influence is more. Accordingly, this paper also puts forward corresponding suggestions to promote the technical production level of Guangxi's construction industry.

Highly branched starch accelerates the restoration of edible quality of dried rice noodles during rehydration.

Electronic address:

Rice noodle with excellent edible quality usually needs a dense gel network structure, but the dense structure is detrimental to the entry of water molecules during dried rice noodle rehydration. To combine the conflict requirements, we described the branching modification of rice starch using 1,4- α- glucan branching enzyme (GBE). Highly branched starch with a short cluster structure reduced fractal dimension and crystallite thickness while increasing mesh size and hydrophilicity of rice noodle gel network.
