Background: Orthotopic neobladder reconstruction has become the preferred method of urinary diversion after radical cystectomy in major medical centers. We performed modified Y-shaped ileal orthotopic neobladder reconstruction and presented the functional results and postoperative complications of the modified surgery.

Methods: We included 21 patients with bladder cancer who underwent radical cystectomy at our center between February 2019 and December 2019.

Early Enteral Nutrition Tolerance in a Duodenal Fistula Patient Undergoing Open Abdomen with Vacuum-assisted Temporary Abdominal Closure.

This case sought to manage a duodenal fistula patient who underwent an open abdomen with vacuum-assisted temporary abdominal closure (VAC) by evaluating his tolerance to early enteral nutrition therapy (ENT). A review of the patient suggested that he developed an abdominal infection as a result of a high duodenal fistula, which necessitated an open abdomen and VAC. Prior to the initiation of ENT, the patient had a patient-generated subjective global assessment (PG-SGA) score of 8 (1st day) suggesting the need for nutritional intervention.

The rapid development of multiple high-throughput sequencing technologies has made it possible to explore the critical roles and mechanisms of functional enhancers and enhancer RNAs (eRNAs). The inflammatory immune response, as a fundamental pathological process in infectious diseases, cancers and immune disorders, coordinates the balance between the internal and external environment of the organism. It has been shown that both active enhancers and intranuclear eRNAs are preferentially expressed over inflammation-related genes in response to inflammatory stimuli, suggesting that enhancer transcription events and their products influence the expression and function of inflammatory genes.

Metastatic Immune-Related Genes for Affecting Prognosis and Immune Response in Renal Clear Cell Carcinoma.

In renal clear cell carcinoma, a common cancer of the urinary system, 25-30% patients are metastatic at initial diagnosis and 20-30% patients have a tendency of recurrence and metastasis after local surgery. With the rapid development of tumor immunology, immune agents have brought new directions to tumor therapy. However, no relevant studies have explored the role of immune-related genes in kidney cancer metastasis.

Aim: To assess the effect of preoperative blood glucose (POBG) levels on the length of stay (LOS) in patients with kidney stones undergoing percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL).

Methods: We conducted a retrospective study of patients who underwent PCNL at the Zhongda Hospital of Southeast University from 2013 to 2019. The relationship between POBG level and LOS was investigated by dose-response analysis curves of restricted cubic spline function.

Purpose: This study aimed i) to identify the best cutoff points of neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) that predict sarcopenia and ii) to illustrate the association between sarcopenia risk and NLR or PLR in renal cell carcinoma (RCC) patients undergoing laparoscopic partial or radical nephrectomy.

Methods: A total of 343 RCC patients who underwent laparoscopic partial or radical nephrectomy between 2014 and 2019 were enrolled in our study. Sarcopenia was assessed by lumbar skeletal muscle index (SMI).

Circular RNAs are a new class of non-coding RNAs that have been shown to play critical roles in the development and progression of renal cell carcinoma (RCC). However, little is known about the functional mechanisms and therapeutic role of ciRS-7 in RCC.
