Developing new organic radical emission systems and regulating their luminescence properties presents a significant challenge. Herein, we build dynamic and multi-emission band radical luminescence systems by co-assembling inorganic metal salts with carbonyl compounds in ionic liquids. After the assembling, dual-band, and excitation wavelength-dependent emission was observed upon light irradiation, one emission band originates from carbonyl radical after light irradiation, the other band from the ligand-metal charge transfer (LMCT) state, which benefits from the charge transfer from the radicals to the metal salts.

Wave-particle duality is one of the most notable and counterintuitive features of quantum mechanics, illustrating that two incompatible observables cannot be measured simultaneously with arbitrary precision. In this work, we experimentally demonstrate the equivalence of wave-particle duality and entropic uncertainty relations using orbital angular momentum (OAM) states of light. Our experiment uses an innovative and reconfigurable platform composed of few-mode optical fibers and photonic lanterns, showcasing the versatility of this technology for quantum information processing.

The global shortage of surgical and anesthesiologic specialists is partly overbridged by task sharing to unspecialized physicians (often called "medical officers" and non-physician staff (often called »associate clinicians"). Task sharing is defined as the delegation of specific tasks from those who traditionally carry them out, to someone with shorter training. There is ample evidence for good patient outcomes after surgeries carried out through task sharing to associate clinicians, especially for hernia repairs, acute laparotomies, orthopaedic surgeries, and caesarean sections.

More than 5 billion humans cannot access essential surgery if needed. Surgery was for a long time not a part of the global health agenda, generally considered a luxury. However, the realization that a large proportion of the global burden of disease can be reduced by surgery has gained momentum.

There is a multiplicity of signals and evidence of avoidable harm and lack of quality in health care. In parallel the medical results often are excellent. Better understanding and knowledge is needed regarding how different factors interact in a complex way resulting in both good and bad outcomes.

In this article we discuss some ethically and legally controversial issues in the Swedish priority guidelines for intensive care during the recent covid pandemic. We show how the Swedish ethics platform for priority setting constitutes a robust starting point for such guidance, but that there is a lack of detail leaving some of the more challenging situations without explicit guidance. To provide guidance, which we have reason to do in order to avoid inequality and arbitrariness, we should try to interpret the ethics platform, based on how it is applied in practice together with ethical reasoning.

The Swedish Intensive Care Registry collects and analyses data regarding intensive care in Sweden. Based on this data an overview can be created regarding available hospital beds and occupancy rates in Swedish intensive care, as well as demographic and clinical characteristics of the patients, and their survival. Through this, identification of patient groups with poorer prognosis is possible, facilitating reflection of the appropriateness of intensive care and invasive procedures that may cause discomfort to the patient.

Introduction: Observational studies are fraught with several biases including reverse causation and residual confounding. Overview of reviews of observational studies (ie, umbrella reviews) synthesise systematic reviews with or without meta-analyses of cross-sectional, case-control and cohort studies, and may also aid in the grading of the credibility of reported associations. The number of published umbrella reviews has been increasing.

Group III-nitride semiconductors have been subject of intensive research, resulting in the maturing of the material system and adoption of III-nitrides in modern optoelectronics and power electronic devices. Defined film polarity is an important aspect of III-nitride epitaxy as the polarity affects the design of electronic devices. Magnetron sputtering is a novel approach for cost-effective epitaxy of III-nitrides nearing the technological maturity needed for device production; therefore, control of film polarity is an important technological milestone.

The physician has an important role in identifying unhealthy lifestyles, offering counselling and, if necessary, referring the patient to another profession or care unit. Therefore, knowledge and skills related to lifestyle habits are included in the goal description for residents in all clinical specialities. SK courses in lifestyle habits should be based on National Guidelines for Prevention and Treatment - Support for Governance and Management (2018), issued by the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare.

Purpose: Providing high-quality and cost-efficient care of older people is an important development priority for many health and social care systems in the world. This paper suggests a shift from acute, episodic and reactive hospital-centered care toward longitudinal, person-centered and proactive home-centered care. The purpose of this paper is to contribute to the knowledge of a comprehensive development strategy for designing and providing home-centered care of older people.

Pain is a symptom that can be associated with dangerous diseases such as cancer. Hence, to avoid delay in diagnosis of an underlying serious condition, it is important to be thorough when assessing pain. However, all pains are not symptoms of an underlying disease.

Introduction: Patients with immune-mediated glomerular diseases are considered at high risk for severe COVID-19 outcomes. However, conclusive evidence for this patient population is scarce.
Methods: We created a global registry and retrospectively collected clinical data of patients with COVID-19 and a previously diagnosed immune-mediated glomerular disease to characterize specific risk factors for severe COVID-19 outcomes.

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer mortality worldwide. In recent years, the incidence of lung cancer subtype lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) has steadily increased. Mitochondria, as a pivotal site of cell bioenergetics, metabolism, cell signaling, and cell death, are often dysregulated in lung cancer cells.
