Background: Anxiety-provoking healthcare procedures require specific child-friendly approaches. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can cause anxiety for children and general anesthesia (GA) is often used. We developed and tested a multi-faceted child-friendly concept, Children Centered Care, for MRI of children without GA.

Purpose: Myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) procedures from single photon emission computed tomography and positron emission tomography imaging have been registered in the Western Denmark Heart Registry (WDHR) since 2017 as a sub-registry (WDHR-MPI). The aim was to review the content, quality, and research potential of the WDHR-MPI and assess the completeness and validity of its key variables.
Patients And Methods: Using the Danish National Patient Registry (DNPR) as a reference, we calculated the completeness of procedure registration as the proportion of procedures registered in the WDHR-MPI from 2017 to 2021.

Center for Fast-track Hip and Knee Replacement, Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen, Denmark; Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Lillebaelt Hospital - Vejle, Vejle, Denmark.
Background: Following the implementation of the fast-track protocol in total hip arthroplasty (THA), total knee arthroplasty (TKA), and unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA), the median length of stay (LOS) has been significantly reduced without an increase in readmissions. However, it is unclear if the reduction in LOS is at the expense of an increase in nonhome discharge. The aim of this study was to investigate the discharge destination among THA, TKA, and UKA patients.

Dupilumab, a fully human monoclonal antibody, blocks interleukins 4 and 13, key and central drivers of type 2 inflammation. Dupilumab has been effective in the treatment of certain types of moderate-to-severe asthma across several clinical trials.

Multiple myeloma (MM) is a haematological malignancy with abnormal proliferation of plasma cells in the bone marrow (BM), and MM patients with highly proliferative plasma cells have reduced overall survival. Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are endogenous, non-coding molecules that are promising biomarkers in cancer. Here, we present the largest study of circRNAs in MM to date and explore the prognostic potential of circRNAs and the link between proliferation and circRNA expression in MM.

Background: The tin filter has allowed radiation dose reduction in some standalone diagnostic computed tomography (CT) applications. Yet, 'low-dose' CT scans are commonly used in positron emission tomography (PET)-CT for lesion localisation/characterisation (L/C), with higher noise tolerated. Thus, dose reductions permissible with the tin filter at this image quality level may differ.

Background: Bacteroides fragilis group species are the most frequently encountered bacteria involved in anaerobic bacteraemia and associated with high mortality rates. In 2012, we performed the first national study of antimicrobial susceptibility in the B. fragilis group from blood cultures in Denmark.

This study explored patients' and orthopaedic surgeons' experiences with PATOS as part of a PROM battery. It aimed to investigate its influence on patient involvement and healthcare decisions about knee or hip osteoarthritis patients scheduled for knee/hip arthroplasty.

Background: Shared decision making in healthcare is a fundamental right for patients. Healthcare professionals' perception of their own abilities to enable shared decision making is crucial for implementing shared decision making within service. IcanSDM (I can shared decision making) is a brief measure to investigate healthcare professionals' perception of shared decision making approaches to their practices.

Identifying biomarkers for Alzheimer's disease (AD) is crucial, due to its complex pathology, which involves dysfunction in lipid transport, contributing to neuroinflammation, synaptic loss, and impaired amyloid-β clearance. Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) is able to quantify and stratify lipoproteins. The study investigated lipoproteins in blood from AD patients, aiming to evaluate their diagnostic potential.

Background: Total hip replacement is routinely recommended for severe hip osteoarthritis, but data from randomized trials are lacking regarding comparison of the effectiveness of this procedure with that of nonsurgical treatment such as resistance training.
Methods: We conducted a multicenter, randomized, controlled trial to compare total hip replacement with resistance training in patients 50 years of age or older who had severe hip osteoarthritis and an indication for surgery. The primary outcome was the change in patient-reported hip pain and function from baseline to 6 months after the initiation of treatment, assessed with the use of the Oxford Hip Score (range, 0 to 48, with higher scores indicating less pain and better function).

: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is marked by severe physical symptoms, impaired quality of life, and high psychological distress. Despite its impact, the identification of not only physical but also psychosocial and existential issues in the clinic lags behind that of other patient groups. : This study aimed to assess physical, psychosocial, and existential issues among patients with COPD using a patient-reported outcome measure for general palliative care (the 'PRO-Pall') in a Danish outpatient clinic.

Research Unit for Screening and Epidemiology, Department of Biochemistry and Immunology, Lillebaelt Hospital, Vejle, Southern Denmark Region, Denmark.
Aim: Organised cervical screening programmes often allow for opportunistic screening. Previous studies have shown that adherence to follow-up protocols after cervical screening is poor. This study aims to investigate if non-adherence to recommended screening intervals - that is, opportunistic screening, is associated with adherence to follow-up after non-negative cervical screening.

Purpose: In 2013, the Scandinavian Neurotrauma Committee, produced an evidence-based guideline for the use of Computed Tomography (CT) in patients presenting following recent (<24 h) head injury (HI). A head CT scan is recommended for medium-risk patients with a Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS) score of 14-15, who are > 65 years old and on anti-platelet medication. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) on head CT scans in this population, and to test for associations between ICH and baseline characteristics, symptoms and objective clinical findings.
