Background: Ultra-low-dose (ULD) computed tomography (CT) scans should be used when CT is performed only for attenuation correction (AC) of positron emission tomography (PET) data. A tin filter can be used in addition to the standard aluminium bowtie filter to reduce CT radiation dose to patients. The aim was to determine how low CT doses can be, when utilised for PET AC, with and without the tin filter, whilst providing adequate PET quantification.

Pan-enteric capsule endoscopy (CE) is an emerging alternative to ileo-colonoscopy for diagnosing Crohn's disease (CD). However, CE does not offer the opportunity to take biopsies to support the diagnosis. This study examined the additional information obtained with mucosal biopsies and the feasibility of CE as a single diagnostic procedure.

Objectives: Endobronchial valve (EBV) treatment is a treatment option for selected patients with severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) to reduce dyspnea and improve quality of life. However, the procedure is associated with risk of complications, and not all patients achieve the expected outcomes. The present study explores patients' expectations while waiting for EBV treatment.

Introduction: Progression of fibrosis in interstitial lung diseases (ILD) has been associated with poor prognosis, lower quality of life for patients and caregivers, and higher healthcare costs. This study estimated the burden of disease and productivity loss of progressively fibrosing ILD, focusing on progressive pulmonary fibrosis other than idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (non-IPF PPF) and systemic sclerosis-associated ILD (SSc-ILD) in the European Economic Area (EEA).
Methods: An economic model was built to estimate the clinical burden of SSc-ILD and non-IPF PPF.

Background: Inflammation suppresses cytochrome P450 (CYP) enzyme activity, and single-dose interleukin 6 receptor antagonists (anti-IL-6R) reverse this effect. Here, we assess the impact of continuous anti-IL-6R therapy in patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
Methods: In a clinical pharmacokinetic trial, the Basel cocktail was administered before and after 3 and 12 weeks of anti-IL-6R therapy to assess CYP enzyme activity (registered in the ClinicalTrials.

Background: Neck pain and headache are highly prevalent conditions and leading causes of disability worldwide. Although MRI is widely used in the management of these conditions, there is uncertainty about the clinical significance of cervical MRI findings in patients with neck pain or headache. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the association between cervical degenerative MRI findings and self-reported neck pain, neck disability, and headache.

Background: Adenocarcinoma (AC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) are the most frequent histological subtypes of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). The aim of this study was to investigate how patients with AC and SCC benefit from image-guided adaptive radiotherapy (ART) with tumour match.
Material And Methods: Consecutive patients diagnosed with AC or SCC of the lung treated with definitive chemo-radiotherapy before and after the implementation of ART and tumour match were retrospectively included for analyses.

Introduction: Patients with end-stage renal disease (ESRD) have an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, but interpreting cardiac troponin is difficult in this population. The effect of renal replacement therapy (RRT) is important to consider when interpreting serial cardiac troponin T (cTnT) results for patients with ESRD suspected of acute coronary syndrome (ACS). The aim of this systematic review is to answer how low-flux hemodialysis (LF-HD), high-flux hemodialysis (HF-HD), and hemodiafiltration (HDF) affect the blood concentration of high-sensitive cardiac troponin T (hs-cTnT).

We investigated the impact of 2-[18F]FDG-PET/CT on detection rate (DR) of the primary tumor and survival in patients with suspected cancer of unknown primary tumor (CUP), comparing it to the conventional diagnostic imaging method, CT. Patients who received a tentative CUP diagnosis at Odense University Hospital from 2014-2017 were included. Patients receiving a 2-[18F]FDG-PET/CT were assigned to the 2-[18F]FDG-PET/CT group and patients receiving a CT only to the CT group.

Background: The experience of loss and grief in patients' lives with life-long treatment in haemodialysis, and in their families' lives is a major cause of mental health problems. In practice, nurses often describe a lack of time and limited knowledge of how to provide nursing care in situations of loss and grief, thus finding out from nurses' perspectives of what competencies they need to provide care would be useful for the development of nursing practice.
Objectives: To develop knowledge in a nursing perspective of competencies to provide care for patients and their families, who experience grief linked to loss due to kidney failure, haemodialysis and/or death.

Introduction: Capillary dysfunction, characterized by disturbances in capillary blood flow distribution, might be an overlooked factor in the development of Alzheimer's disease (AD). This study investigated microvascular blood flow in preclinical and prodromal AD individuals.
Methods: Using dynamic susceptibility contrast magnetic resonance imaging and positron emission tomography, we examined alterations in microvascular circulation and levels of Aβ deposition in two independent cohorts of APOE ε4 carriers.

Background: Chronic pain is a major health problem worldwide but the limited knowledge of its underlying pathophysiology impairs the opportunities for diagnostics and treatment. Biomarkers of chronic pain are greatly needed to understand the disease and develop new targets for interventions and drug treatments, and potentially introduce more precise diagnostic procedures. Much evidence points to a neuroimmune pathology for many chronic pain conditions and that important neuroimmune biomarkers exist in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of patients with chronic pain.

Background: Noises have been associated with ceramic-on-ceramic bearings in total hip arthroplasties. The etiology is multifactorial, but a high prevalence of noises was reported in studies using a specific acetabular component system. We examined if specific ceramic component designs are associated with the prevalence of noises in 2 commonly used component systems.

Background: To prevent or postpone dependence on help in everyday activities, early identification of adults aged 65 + years at risk of functional decline or with progressing functional decline is essential. The American Composite Physical Function (CPF) scale was developed to detect and prevent this age-conditioned decline. In this study, the aim was to translate and adapt the scale into a Danish version and assess the validity and reliability in Danish adults aged 65 + years.
