Perfusion MR imaging at 3-Tesla: Can it predict tumor grade and histologic necrosis rate of musculoskeletal sarcoma?

Diagn Interv Imaging

September 2019

Medical Imaging Department, Oscar Lambret Center, Lille Nord University, 3, rue Frédéric-Combemale, 59000 Lille, France.

Purpose: To identify quantitative perfusion parameters that are best associated with tumor grade and tumor necrosis at magnetic resonance (MR) imaging at 3-Tesla.

Methods: MR perfusion studies of 31 patients with a musculoskeletal sarcoma were retrospectively evaluated by two readers. There were 18 men and 13 women with a mean age of 34.

Introduction: The SOFCOT symposium (2005) on periprosthetic fractures of the femur (PFFs) highlighted a high rate of dislocation (15.6% at 6 months) after change of prosthesis. So far, no study has ever proved the benefit of dual-mobility articulation during PFFs revisions.

Objective: To investigate whether there were suspicious criteria on the initial MRI in BIRADS 3 lesions. To analyze the value of "blooming sign" as an additional criterion for malignancy.

Materials And Methods: In this retrospective study the lesion morphological and enhancement characteristics were analyzed.

Simulation training is an appealing and useful addition to health facilities. Simulation centers are organized to maximize network resources. Simulation training is used for certification or recertification of health professionals and is now an integral part of the methods used in continuing professional development.

Evaluation of tubal microinserts position using 3D ultrasound and pelvic X-ray.

Diagn Interv Imaging

November 2015

Women Medical Imaging Department, Jeanne-de-Flandre Hospital, CHRU de Lille, avenue Eugène-Avinée, 59037 Lille, France.

Purpose: To retrospectively compare three-dimensional ultrasonography (3D-US) and pelvic X-rays to assess the position of tubal sterilization microinserts.

Material And Methods: Forty-four patients who underwent tubal sterilization with Essure(®) microinserts in our institution were included. The microinserts'position was evaluated three months after the procedure using 3D-US and pelvic X-rays.

Shear Wave Elastography (SWE): An Analysis of Breast Lesion Characterization in 83 Breast Lesions.

Ultrasound Med Biol

October 2015

Women Medical Imaging Department, Jeanne de Flandre Hospital, Lille Nord University, Lille, France. Electronic address:

Qualitative and quantitative shear wave elastography (SWE) criteria were assessed to differentiate between malignant and benign breast lesions. This prospective study included 83 lesions. SWE features measured included maximal stiffness values inside the lesion (E(lesion)) and in the peri-lesion area (E(perilesion)) and ratio values (R(lesion) and R(perilesion)) according to the formula E(lesion) or E(perilesion)/E(fat), with E(fat) corresponding to normal fatty tissue.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to evaluate the prognostic significance of systolic pulmonary artery pressure (sPAP) measured through echocardiography in a large European cohort of scleroderma patients.
  • A total of 1476 patients were analyzed, with findings showing that higher sPAP levels were linked to an increased risk of death, particularly for sPAP values above 36 mmHg, indicating its importance as an independent risk factor for mortality.
  • The results suggest that an estimated sPAP greater than 36 mmHg at the initial examination correlates with poorer survival outcomes, regardless of pulmonary hypertension diagnosis confirmed through more invasive methods.

Introduction And Hypothesis: We created a pregnant woman pelvic model to perform a simulation of delivery to understand the pathophysiology of urogenital prolapse by studying the constraints on the pelvic components (muscles, ligaments, pelvic organs) during childbirth. These simulations will also provide valuable tools to understand and teach obstetrical mechanics.

Methods: We built a numerical model of the pelvic system from a term pregnant woman, using the finite element method on a mesh built from magnetic resonance images of a nulliparous pregnant woman.

Introduction And Hypothesis: Genital prolapse remains a complex pathological condition. Physiopathology remains poorly understood, aetiology is multi-factorial, surgery is not always satisfying, as the rate of relapse cannot be overlooked. More over a good anatomical result will not always guarantee functional satisfaction.
