Purpose: Primary bilateral macronodular adrenal hyperplasia (PBMAH), the most common cause of Cushing's syndrome due to bilateral nodules, is a heterogeneous disease at the clinical, hormonal and morphological levels. ARMC5 inactivating pathogenic variants are causative of PBMAH and rare variants of PDE11A have been associated with PBMAH.

Poor breathability, inadequate flexibility, bulky wearability, and insufficient gas-adsorption capacity always limit the developments and applications of conventional chemical protective clothing (CPC). To create a lightweight, breathable, and flexible fabric with a high gas-absorption capacity, activated carbon (AC)-loaded poly(m-phenylene isophthalamide) (PMIA) porous composite fibres were fabricated from a mixed wet-spinning process integrated with a solvent-free phase separation process. By manipulating the pore parameters of as-spun composite fibres, the exposure-immobilization of AC particles on the fibre surface can offer a higher gas-absorption capacity and better AC-loading stability.

Multi-stable behavior at the microscopic length-scale is fundamental for phase transformation phenomena observed in many materials. These phenomena can be driven not only by external mechanical forces but are also crucially influenced by disorder and thermal fluctuations. Disorder, arising from structural defects or fluctuations in external stimuli, disrupts the homogeneity of the material and can significantly alter the system's response, often leading to the suppression of cooperativity in the phase transition.

Background: Meropenem-vaborbactam (MEM-VAB) is a novel carbapenem-beta-lactamase-inhibitor combination that demonstrates activity against carbapenem-resistant (CR) Gram-negative bacteria, and more specifically KPC-producers, since vaborbactam is an effective inhibitor of KPC enzymes in vitro. This study aimed to describe the initial uses and efficacy of MEM-VAB for compassionate treatment during the first 21 months following its early access in France.

Objective: Fetal intracranial hemorrhage (FICH) is a rare and potentially deleterious condition. Fetal alloimmune thrombocytopenia and pathogenic variations in COL4A1/A2 genes are well-recognized causes of FICH.
