Background And Objective: This study aimed to determine the effects of in ovo formula product injection on hatching parameters, chick quality, small intestinal development and ileum histology of breeder hen eggs.
Methods: A total of 400 fertilised eggs were obtained from the Atak-S parent flock at 42 weeks of age for the experiment. The experiment was designed in two groups: a control group (C), in which no injection was performed, and the other group in which a solution containing formula products at concentrations of 1.

Plant glucanases, including potato glucanase, are pivotal in biological processes such as cell growth, development, and defense against pathogens. These enzymes hold substantial promises in biotechnological applications, especially genetic engineering for enhancing crop disease resistance and stress tolerance. In this study, from Solanum tuberosum, glycosyl hydrolases family 17 (GH-17) β-1,3-glucanase (Stglu) was cloned, expressed, characterized and its antifungal activity was evaluated.

Squalene synthase (SQS) plays a crucial role in the cholesterol biosynthetic pathway. Its distinctive strategic position makes it a promising candidate for targeting and developing new anti-hypercholesterolemic agents. To uncover novel phytochemical scaffolds as potential inhibitors of SQS, we employed a structure-based virtual screening approach that involves screening 545 phytochemicals collected from Moroccan aromatic and medicinal plants and filtering them based on RMSD values and their affinity towards the target enzyme.

When placed in the eye, contact lenses (CLs) disturb the tear fluid and affect the natural tribological behaviour of the eye. The disruption in the contact mechanics between the ocular tissues can increase frictional shear stress and ocular dryness, causing discomfort. Ultimately, continuous CLs wear can trigger inflammation which is particularly critical for people suffering from dry eye.

This study investigates the integration of Broadband Cavity Enhanced Absorption Spectroscopy (BBCEAS) with High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) to detect synthetic antioxidants; BHA, BHT, and TBHQ in the deep-UV region below 300 nm. The research addresses the need for more sensitive and cost-effective detection methods in HPLC systems, particularly for low analyte concentrations, by exploring BBCEAS as a superior alternative to conventional detectors that often fall short in sensitivity. The sensitivity of the HPLC-BBCEAS system is assessed by calculating the minimum detectable change in the absorption coefficient (αmin) and comparing with those obtained using conventional HPLC and single-wavelength HPLC-CRDS methods.

The global concern over microbial resistance, particularly the emergence of antibiotic resistance, underscores the imperative for novel antimicrobial strategies. Plant essential oils and biopolymers offer promising alternatives to conventional drugs for bacterial and fungal infections. The objective was to achieve optimized antibacterial activity and to identify the phytochemical component of the essential oil.

Background: This study aims to investigate the effects of carob (Ceratonia siliqua L.) pod extract (CPE) on the viability of human endometrial mesenchymal stromal/stem cells (EnMSCs) and its impact on mRNA and protein expressions of DNA methyltransferases (DNMT1, DNMT3A, and DNMT3B), histone deacetylase 1 (HDAC1), matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP2), and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) in endometriotic patients.
Materials And Methods: In this experimental study, EnMSCs were derived from endometrium of patients with ovarian endometrioma (OMA-EnMSCs group) and deep infiltrative endometriosis (DIE) samples of 10 endometriosisassociated infertility (EAI) women (E-EnMSCs group) and compared to EnMSCs derived from the endometrium of an endometriosis-free, normal woman as the control group (C-EnMSCs).

The mortality rate of infectious diseases caused by is increasing. The enhanced antibiotic resistance among bacterial species through genetic transfer and mutations in the efflux mediating genes has made the treatment quite challenging. is an aerobic, gram-negative, and non-fermenting opportunistic pathogen found in immunocompromised patients.

This study aimed to evaluate the antimicrobial resistance (AMR) patterns and genomic characteristics of Enterococcus faecalis, Enterococcus faecium, and Staphylococcus aureus strains isolated from dairy products, including buttermilk, curd, ice cream, and sweets, in the Anand region of Gujarat, India. A total of 205 isolates were analysed, with the highest contamination levels found in buttermilk and curd. The bacterial isolates were identified using biochemical tests and advanced Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption/Ionization Time-of-Flight (MALDI-TOF) mass spectrometry.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) poses a critical threat to global public health, necessitating the development of novel strategies. AMR occurs when bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites evolve to resist antimicrobial drugs, making infections difficult to treat and increasing the risk of disease spread, severe illness, and death. Over 70% of infection-causing microorganisms are estimated to be resistant to one or several antimicrobial drugs.

Research Question: Can spermatozoa penetrate maturing metaphase I (MI) oocytes, and render subsequent development following conventional IVF in a mouse model?
Design: ICR mice were used in this study. Metaphase II (MII) cumulus-oocyte complexes (COC) harvested 15 h after injection of human chorionic gonadotrophin (HCG) were used for IVF as the control group (Group 1). In the treatment group (Group 2), maturing MI COC harvested 7 h after HCG injection were used for IVF.

Poultry manure is widely used as organic fertilizer in agriculture during the cultivation of crops, but the persistent high-level use of antibiotics in poultry production has raised concerns about the selection for reservoirs of antimicrobial resistance genes (ARGs). Previous studies have shown that the addition of poultry manure can increase the abundance of genes associated with resistance to tetracyclines, aminoglycosides, fluoroquinolones, sulfonamides, bacitracin, chloramphenicol, and macrolide-lincosamide-streptogramin in soil and plants. Understanding the microbial populations that harbor these ARGs is important to identify microorganisms that could enter the human food chain.

Gelatin (Gel) based water-insoluble films with antimicrobial properties were developed by the green method using trans-cinnamaldehyde (TCA) and low-energy X-ray irradiation as dual crosslinkers. The Gel/TCA composite films (GTCF) were prepared at different pH (4, 6, 8, and 10) and crosslinked by incorporating 5 % (w/w, based on Gel) TCA and X-ray irradiation (350 kV and 11.4 mA) with doses of 0, 5, 10 and 15 kGy.

Background: Adenomyosis can lead to infertility and failure of in vitro fertilization. Limited evidence suggests that the use of long-term treatment with gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonists followed by frozen-thawed embryo transfer (FET) may be the preferred approach for women with adenomyosis.
Objective: The aim of this randomized controlled trial is to compare the efficacy of an ultra-long GnRH agonist with standard downregulation in women with adenomyosis undergoing FET.

Benign hyperplasia (BHP) is a common disorder that affects men over the age of 60 years. Transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) is the gold standard for operative treatment, but a range of drugs are also available to improve quality of life and to reduce BHP-associated urinary tract infections and complications. Darifenacin, an anti-muscarinic agent, has been found effective for relieving symptoms of overactive bladder associated with BHP, but the drug has poor solubility and bioavailability, which are major challenges in product development.
