Collagen, type XV, alpha 1 (COL15A1) belongs to the collagen superfamily, which can influence disease progression by modulating immune pathways. Although the growing number of investigations demonstrating the indispensable role of COL15A1 in the progression of certain tumors, no pan-cancer assessment of COL15A1 is accessible to date. Therefore, the available data was used to explore the role of COL15A1 in 33 types of tumors and to investigate their potential immune function.

Methods: The expression levels of circPLK1, microRNA-4500 (miR-4500), insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF1) were measured by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) or western blot.

Human papillomavirus infection and cervical dysplasia in female sex workers in Northeast China: an observational study.

Background: Women having multiple sex partners are reportedly at an increased risk of HPV infection. However, the prevalence and risk factors of HPV infection in female sex workers (FSWs) vary considerably across racial/ethnic, socioeconomic, and geographic groups. This study aimed to determine the prevalence and risk factors of HPV infection in FSWs in Northeast China.

[Computed tomographic diagnosis of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma].

Objective: To explore the computed tomographic (CT) manifestations and their values in the diagnosis of intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (IHC) and improve the understanding of IHC.

Methods: A total of 58 IHC patients confirmed pathologically from January 2006 to December 2012 were reviewed.

Results: On plain CT scans, all lesions were of low density with lower density region (n = 37), retraction of liver capsule (n = 11), dilation of intrahepatic biliary duct (n = 22), bile duct calculus (n = 13) and atrophy of liver lobe (n = 14).

Background:  : Phase II-III trials in patients with untreated and previously treated locally advanced or non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) suggested that Endostar was able to enhance the effect of platinum-based chemotherapy (NP regimen) with tolerable adverse effects.

Methods: Four hundred and eighty six patients were randomized into two arms: study arm A: NP plus Endostar (n = 322; vinorelbine, cisplatin, Endostar), and study arm B: NP plus placebo (n = 164; vinorelbine, cisplatin, 0.9% sodium chloride).

[Treatment efficacy of surgical management for liver metastasis from colorectal cancer--a report of 198 cases].

Background & Objective: Liver is the most common site of metastasis in colorectal cancer, and 35% patients with colorectal cancer developed liver metastasis at diagnosis. The prognosis of the patients with liver metastases from colorectal cancer is poor. Surgical resection, radiofrequency ablation, and chemotherapy had been used in clinical treatment for liver metastasis from colorectal cancer with various outcomes.
