Diagnosis of TCM symptoms and analysis of risk factors of mild cognitive impairment in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Objective: To explore the diagnosis of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome and analyze the risk factors of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM).

Methods: 141 T2DM patients, who were hospitalized in department of endocrinology of our hospital from February 2020 to December 2020, were chosen as research subjects. The patients were divided into an observation group (n=65, T2DM with MCI) and a control group (n=76, T2DM with normal cognitive function) according to the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) score and diagnostic criteria of MCI.

Effect of high-quality nursing intervention on psychological emotion, life quality and nursing satisfaction of patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma undergoing radiotherapy.

Objective: This study was designed to investigate the effect of high-quality nursing (HQN) intervention on psychological emotion, quality of life (QOL) and nursing satisfaction of patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) undergoing radiotherapy.

Methods: Fifty-eight NPC patients receiving radiotherapy in our hospital between August 2017 and February 2019 were selected and divided into two groups according to different nursing intervention models. Among them, the control group (CG; 28 cases) was given routine nursing intervention, while the research group (RG; 30 cases) was treated with HQN intervention.

Transducer-like enhancer of split 1 (TLE1) as a novel biomarker for diagnosis of synovial sarcoma correlates with translocation t(X;18): a study of 155 cases in China.

Synovial sarcoma (SS) is a mesenchymal tumor of uncertain histogenesis which is defined by the translocation t(X;18). Transducer-like enhancer of split 1 (TLE1) as a new immunomarker for SS has offered an alternative to pathologists in distinguishing synovial sarcoma from other mesenchymal neoplasms, especially in limited molecular facilities. The main aim was to study the expression and diagnostic specificity and sensitivity of TLE1 in SS.

Synthesis and discovery of 18β-glycyrrhetinic acid derivatives inhibiting cancer stem cell properties in ovarian cancer cells.

Despite advances in ovarian cancer treatment, the five-year overall survival rate is less than 30% with the presence of cancer stem cells (CSCs). To develop CSC-targeting therapy, a series of 18β-glycyrrhetinic acid (GA) derivatives containing cinnamamide moiety have been designed, synthesized, and screened for their antiproliferative activity in SKOV3 and OVCAR3 cells. Most of the compounds exhibited stronger antiproliferative activity than GA, and compound 7c was the most active one.

Long noncoding RNA TP73-AS1 accelerates the epithelial ovarian cancer via epigenetically repressing p21.

Evidence has indicated the important roles of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) in the human cancer biology, providing potential targets for cancer intervention. However, the expression profile and function of lncRNA TP73-AS1 in human epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC) remain to be investigated. In the EOC specimens and cell lines, TP73-AS1 was identified to be significantly up-regulated.

Eukaryotic translation initiation factor 3 subunit G promotes human colorectal cancer.

In this study, we investigated the role of eukaryotic translation initiation factor 3 subunit G (EIF3G) in colorectal cancer. Immunohistochemical analysis showed higher EIF3G expression in stage IV human colorectal cancer tissues than in adjacent normal tissues (P<0.01).

However, the mechanism underlying the regulation of the Wnt/β-Catenin pathway remains largely unknown. Determining the molecular mechanism of the Wnt/β-Catenin pathway's aberrant activation in glioma carcinogenesis might improve therapeutic strategies for patients with glioma.

: Parkinson's disease (PD) is a degenerative disease of central nervous system. 1-Methyl-4-phenylpyridine (MPP) is a non-selective dopaminergic neurotoxin that induces cell injury similar to PD. This study aimed to explore the protective effects of polysaccharide extracts (ROP) on the MPP-induced PC-12 cell injury.

MicroRNA-183 correlates cancer prognosis, regulates cancer proliferation and bufalin sensitivity in epithelial ovarian caner.

Background we intended to explore the functional implication of microRNA-183 (miR-183) in predicting clinical prognosis and regulating cancer proliferation and bufalin sensitivity in epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). Methods In 75 EOC patients, miR-183 expression was examined, by quantitative RT-PCR (qRT-PCR), between paired EOC tumors and adjacent normal tissues, and between tumor samples from patients at early clinical stages and those at advanced clinical stages. The association of serum miR-183 and patients' clinicopathological variables were examined.

MiRNAs play crucial roles in abnormal proliferation and invasion of VSMCs. However, the roles and mechanisms of miRNAs in VSMCs are not fully understood. In our study, we demonstrated that PDGF-BB and serum induced proliferation of VSMCs led to the upregulation of miR-541.

MicroRNA-155 expression as a prognostic factor in patients with gallbladder carcinoma after surgical resection.

Background: MicroRNA-155 (miR-155) is over-expressed in both hematopoietic malignancies and solid tumors. In the present study, we investigated the clinical significance of miR-155 in gallbladder carcinoma among Chinese population.

Methods: Tissue specimens were collected from 133 patients who had undergone surgical resection at Shandong Provincial Hospital, Shandong University between May 2008 and April 2014.

The technique comparison of brachial plexus blocks by ultrasound guided with blocks by nerve stimulator guided.

Objective: Brachial plexus perineural blocks provide specific analgesia for upper limb surgery. We present our experience with ultrasound-guided supraclavicular brachial plexus perineural blocks for distal upper limb surgery. Although single-injection ultrasound-guided supraclavicular blocks have been reported, little is known about the advantages using this approach compared with nerve stimulator guided.

Serum Cystatin C can detect impaired graft function early after renal transplantation.

Objectives: To study the significance of Cystatin C (Cys C) in early detection of the graft function after renal transplantation.

Material: The concentrations of Cys C, Blood urea nitrogen (BUN), Serum creatinine (SCr), and glomerular filtration rate (GFR) were measured. According to the results of the post-transplantation GFR; Seventy renal post-transplanted patients were assigned into 3 groups: group A (31 cases with the normal range of the renal function, GFR≥90 ml/min/1.

Gastric cancer has high morbidity and mortality in China. It is ranked first in malignant tumors of the digestive system. Its etiology and pathogenesis are still unclear, but they may be associated with a variety of factors.

MicroRNA-1297 regulates hepatocellular carcinoma cell proliferation and apoptosis by targeting EZH2.

In this study, we suggested the level of miR-1297 was downreguled in the human hepatocellular carcinoma compared to the normal cells. We demonstrate ectopic expression of miR-1297 could significantly suppress hepatocellular carcinoma cells proliferation and enhance the cell apoptosis. In vitro reporter assay suggested EZH2 is a direct target gene of miR-1297.

Effects of different anesthesia methods on cognitive dysfunction after hip replacement operation in elder patients.

There are many risk factors for the cause of postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD), however, the anesthesia selection always trigger controversy for the POCD occurrence. This study aims to explore the relationship between the anesthesia and the occurrence of POCD in elder patients, and also investigate the mechanism of the POCD. One hundred elder patients with hip replacement were included in this study, which were divided into general anesthesia (GA) and epidural analgesia (EA) group.

MiR-592 inhibited cell proliferation of human colorectal cancer cells by suppressing of CCND3 expression.

Accumulating evidence shows that microRNA (miRNA) is frequently associated with multiple kinds of human cancers, including colorectal cancer (CRC). Previous studies have shown that miR-592 play critical roles in cancer cell biological processes. However, the function of miR-592 in CRC remains largely unknown.

Hyperbaric oxygenation promotes neural stem cell proliferation and protects the learning and memory ability in neonatal hypoxic-ischemic brain damage.

The aim of our study was to evaluate whether hyperbaric oxygenation (HBO) was an effective therapy for neonatal hypoxic ischemic brain damage (HIBD). Seven-day-old rat pups were divided into 3 groups: sham, hypoxia-ischemia (HI) control and HI-HBO group. HBO was administered for HI rats daily.

Asthma is a serious global health problem characterised by airway inflammation, airway epithelial wall shedding, enhanced mucus production, increased IgE levels and airway hyperresponsiveness. The pathophysiology of asthma is mediated by Th2 cells which produce Th2 cytokines like interleukin-4, interleukin-5, interleukin-13 and interleukin-9. The differentiation of Th2 cells is induced by the transcription factor GATA3 which is activated by pSTAT6 via IL-4 signalling.

Preliminary application of hybrid operation in the treatment of carotid artery stenosis in patients with complex ischemic cerebrovascular diseases.

Along with the recent development of intraluminal interventional techniques and correlated imaging methods, one-stop hybrid operation has become a new focus in clinical settings. The aim of this study is to discuss the clinical significance of the one-stop hybrid endarterectomy surgery in the treatment of complex ischemic cerebrovascular diseases. In this study, clinical data from 10 patients with complex ischemic cerebrovascular diseases (including multi-vessel severe stenosis of the internal extracranial carotid artery, single vessel series stenosis of the internal extracranial carotid artery, in-stent restenosis, complete occlusion of the common carotid or the internal carotid artery) admitted to Beijing Xuanwu Hospital and Liaocheng Brain Hospital, were retrospectively analyzed.

[Apoptosis induced by MG-132 in Tca-8113 cells].

Purpose: To explore the apoptotic effect of ubiquitin-proteasome inhibitor (PI) MG-132 on human tongue squamous cell carcinoma cell line (Tca-8113 cell) through endoplasmic reticulum stress.

Methods: Tca-8113 cells were cultured in RPMI 1640 medium supplemented with 10% fetal calf serum, the exponential cells were divided into 5 groups.The cell culture medium was added to 1640 (negative control group), thapsigargin 5 μmol/L (positive control group), and 10,20,30 μmol/L (MG-132 group).
