Background: The rate at which atrial fibrillation (AF) patients experience a return of symptoms after catheter ablation is significant, and there are multiple risk factors involved. This research intends to perform a meta-analysis to explore the risk factors connected to the recurrence of AF in patients following catheter ablation.
Methods: The PubMed, Cochrane Library, WOS, Embase, SinoMed, CNKI, Wanfang, and VIP databases were explored for studies from January 1, 2000 to August 10, 2021, and research meeting the established inclusion requirements was chosen.

Male infertility is most commonly caused by oligozoospermia, and its pathogenesis is still poorly understood at the molecular level. This study used RNA sequencing (RNA-Seq) technology to identify candidate genes and regulatory pathways that regulate semen quality in the hypothalamic, pituitary, and testicular tissues of healthy rats and Adenine-induced oligozoospermia model rats. Semen quality testing and histological analysis of testicular tissues were performed on both groups of rats.

End-stage renal disease (ESRD) is associated with vascular and neuronal dysfunction, causing neurovascular coupling (NVC) dysfunction, but how NVC dysfunction acts on the mechanism of cognitive impairment in ESRD patients from local to remote is still poorly understood. We recruited 48 ESRD patients and 35 demographically matched healthy controls to scan resting-state functional MRI and arterial spin labeling, then investigated the four types of NVC between amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation (ALFF), fractional ALFF, regional homogeneity, degree centrality, and cerebral blood perfusion (CBF), and associated functional networks. Our results indicated that ESRD patients showed NVC dysfunction in global gray matter and multiple brain regions due to the mismatch between CBF and neural activity, and associated disrupted functional connectivity (FC) within sensorimotor network (SMN), visual network (VN), default mode network (DMN), salience network (SN), and disrupted FC between them with limbic network (LN), while increased FC between SMN and DMN.

The aim of the present study was to reveal the new molecular mechanism of long non-coding (lnc)RNA XIST in the development of hepatic carcinoma. A total of 69 patients with hepatic carcinoma were included. Hepatoma cell lines (SUN449), hepatoblastoma cell line (HepG2, Huh-6), liver cancer cell line (HepG2) and transformed human liver epithelial-2 cells (THLE-2) were used in the present study.

The present study aimed to explore the prognostic value and role of kinesin family member 4A (KIF4A) expression in human osteosarcoma. KIF4A expression was evaluated in human osteosarcoma tissues from The Cancer Genome Atlas and Gene Expression Omnibus datasets. Reverse transcription-quantitative PCR was then applied to assess KIF4A level in both osteosarcoma cell lines and tissues.

Background: Immune landscape of cancer has been increasingly recognized as a key feature affecting disease progression, prognosis and therapeutic response. Here, we sought to comprehensively characterize the patterns of tumor-infiltrating immune cells (TIIs) in primary oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) and develop immune features-derived models for prognostication and therapeutic prediction.
Methods: A total number of 392 patients with OSCC receiving ablative surgery at three independent centers were retrospectively enrolled and defined as training, testing and validation cohorts.

Enterovirus A71 (EV-A71) is an important pathogen of severe hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) in young children. This study aimed to retrospectively analyze the molecular epidemiology and recombination of EV-A71 in mainland China during 1987-2017. Phylogenetic tree showed that besides the previously reported subgenotypes A, B5, C0, C2, C3, and C4, a new subgenotype C6 emerged in mainland China.

We are investigating whether minimally invasive early annular closure can achieve a better clinical effect in the treatment of lumbar disc herniation (LDH).
Objective: To compare the clinical and imaging outcomes between MED combined with annular suture and PTED in the treatment of LDH.

Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is one of the major risk factors of disability and death worldwide. Despite of the protective role of ligustilide (LIG) in many cell types, we aimed to investigate whether LIG could be a potential to treat DM.
Methods: Sprague Dawley rats were randomly assigned to five groups.

Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate safety and effectiveness of simple anterior reduction and fusion for acute lower cervical unilateral facet dislocation without severe spinal cord injuries.
Materials And Methods: One hundred and two patients with unilateral cervical facet dislocations without severe spinal cord injuries who were surgically treated by the only anterior approach were analyzed. The treatment effects were evaluated based on the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) scores, the Cobb angle of kyphosis, the Neck Disability Index (NDI) and Odom's criteria.

Background: Transforaminal endoscopic lumbar discectomy (TELD), a minimally invasive spinal technique, has advantages over open discectomy. Unilateral TELD for disc herniation causing bilateral symptoms is challenging. In this study, we describe a percutaneous endoscopic herniotomy technique by using a unilateral approach for lumbar disc herniation with bilateral obvious symptoms.

Background: Currently, polylactide is the most popular material used to made bioabsorbable cages but too-quick degradation and osteolysis around the cage have been reported in the literature. This study evaluated the fusion effect, biomechanical stability, and histologic characteristics of a novel bioabsorbable multiamino acid copolymer/nanohydroxyapatite/calcium sulfate (MAACP/n-HA/CS) interbody cage in a goat model of anterior cervical discectomy and fusion.
Methods: A total of 24 goats underwent C3/C4 discectomy and fusion with 3 groups of intervertebral implants: MAACP/n-HA/CS cage group (n = 8), titanium cage group (n = 8), and autologous tricortical iliac crest bone group (n = 8).
